Boux Avenue.

For christmas, my boyfriend gave me a lovely little bag from 'boux avenue', a company which I'd always wondered about, as one of their stores was opened near me.

I'm so impressed with Boux Avenue on a whole. They have clicked onto a market of lingerie which I feel places such as Ann Summers & La Senza missed out on - the vintage boudoir esque feel that all girls want when picking out lingerie. When you walk in it doesn't feel like a place full of raunchy sex toys and cringey outfits, which of course is great for some people, but for me I love the girliness of having lingerie. It's like walking into a vintage dressing room - with drawers filled with frilly knickers and pretty pyjamas hung up delicately. I'm not the best at explaining things - but on a whole they have the nicest lingerie and the prettiest shop out of all the places I've visited.

I got this pretty pink number with frills, and it was gift wrapped so elegantly.

I went to meet a friend for a coffee and hit up a few charity shops, and wore a pretty casual outfit. Really love jumpers with leather leggings at the moment - although the leggings aren't the warmest thing in the world!

Also got some treats from a local chinese supermarket and couldn't help showing you..

They also had live crabs/lobsters and aloe vera juice?! I love eating foods from different places - especially the sweet things!

I'm off to a gig on thursday in Leeds, one of my favourite band from being a teen - oh yes - panic! at the disco! They've always had a special place in my heart ;) and I'm being the adult with my little sister and her friend. I went last year by myself and loved it - but my god, I'm such a wimp at gigs, I'm so tiny I just get thrust around everywhere! I think I'll keep it quite basic and wear a bustier and leather shorts like I did last time.
I'm also off to the very event in London on friday, and then the zomg blogger bash on monday - let me know if any of you are going! It's going to be a busy week for me to say the least!

So today was a fairly normal day, James & I usually go to a carboot but because of the wind, when we turned up there was like 5 stalls so we just went. Theres only one running until March and I'm so frustrated because it's where most of the stock for the shop is going to be from! I've still got a few gems I'm selling however to keep me going till March :) The items are all going up tomorrow at 7pm HERE, as they're on a scheduled listing. There's only a handful at the moment & this jumper is one of them..

They are the cutest little rabbits in the whole world! They're sisters and are constantly snuggling up to each other. They are both ridiculously tame, they don't scratch/bite/kick and are very mischeveous.

They are currently sat next to me on their little rabbit bed on my bed having a snooze :)

I couldn't resist buying this knit jumper from primark, it's not the most flattering but is super cosy!

I've been posting way more recently but it's been mega hard - I'm still shooting my photos in JPEG rather than RAW, but only because I'm so lost as to what to do! I've had my NIKON D3000 SLR camera for over a year now but I definitely need a crash course in photography! I feel like my photos need major help when it's winter - the dark is my worst enemy :( if anyone has any tips or reads any good tutorials please let me know, I'd love to know how all you lovely bloggers get such wonderful photos!

Went shopping last week with the boy and picked up a few essentials (primark slippers ftw) and got all layered up. I'm not great with my a/w wardrobe, but I'm loving snoods and knit jumpers. I sorted my wardrobe out earlier this week and found so many lovely knits I forgot I owned - and just in time too!

nineteen.

So recently it was my nineteenth birthday. Thankyou all so much for the lovely birthday messages on twitter! I had such a lovely day! I woke up to chocolate pancakes in bed with balloons everywhere, and as I came downstairs, I saw my birthday cake & got to open all my amazzzzing presents! Me and my boy then went to a few charity shops, abit of primark shopping (i got some new knickers and pyjamas, of course!) and then went out for a meal. I wore my new vintage faux fur coat I got off him for christmas - it's sooo snuggly!

I also got some 'American chocolates' off my little sister & two packs of my favurite ever chocolate - FORRERO ROCHER ... but I ate them all hahahahaha so sorry bout that. Then I recieved my 3 FAVOURITE presents of all..
My boyfriend bought me a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet! We went to pick the charms together - because he really didn't want to get it wrong with something so expensive! The star is because I'm his star (yep cheesey blah blah) & the 'eternity' one is pretty self explanitory, same with the letter K. The 'frog on a pearl' was just beaaautiful, so I picked all these. and I haven't taken it off!

These are now my favourite pair of shoes. They are lookalikeys of the forever coveted Tan 'Dany Jessica Simpson' & 'Jeffrey Campbell Foxys' and they are SO beautiful. They are the 'Asos bitten platforms', and they are the nicest quality ever. They were also £75, so they are the most expensive shoes I own. Cannot wait to whip these out in the summer! And they are SO comfy!

.. and finally, this was the biggest surprise ever. My dad bought me a laptop. Now, if I'm honest, I've never had so much money spent on me, a laptop this nice is so out of my parents price range, so it was such an incredible surprise, and I am so so grateful! It means I can take my blog with me wherever I go.. and yeah its not a MAC, but I love it, and I think I'm always going to be a PC girl at heart ;) it also had HD graphics and a CORE i5 processor - which apparently makes it really good. Literally been sat watching so much tv on it at night!

So yeah, this was my birthday! I feel like genuinely this is 'my year' and I'm really going to try and keep this blog up to date!

Sorry for being MIA - but heres the reason! The name of the blog has changed. I stayed up all night with my boyfriend tryng to modify DNS settings etc because of the domain name change, and then setting up a different blog to let you know where the 'new one is'. This was a very confusing and frustrating task, one I hope never to do ever again!

Don't be too confused - it's the same blog! So if you followed i heart vintage x, you follow She Wears Fashion :)

Thankyou all so much for your wonderful birthday messages, being nineteen isn't that much different but I'm scared to think I won't be a 'teen' this time next year! I had a wonderful day and a blog post will be up soon I promise!

This new blog name change means so much change on the blog. I'm going to be posting more because I have more time, and I'm putting my all into a genuine proper vintage ebay shop. It will still be bidding from a low start (no ridiculous vintage prices like £30 for a grandad jumper!) with a few handmade things. Basically .. you all know its pretty much been my dream and I've been working super hard and earning enough money to finally go through with it.

So heres to a much needed overhaul of the blog .. and I hope everyone is as excited as I am (this all sounds so cheesey but I'm so excited!)

Sorry for such a belated 'christmas' post - I've just been so busy being well.. lazy. I've enjoyed having time off to enjoy myself and it's my birthday tomorrow - I can't believe it's been a year already!

I went to Kent to spend christmas with my boyfriends family. I had such a lovely time, but I did quite miss my family, it was the first time I'd spent christmas away from them!

Heres a few pictures of what I got. (sorry for the shoddy quality, lighting is terrible today as the weather is just dreadfully cold and dark!)

I also got a few other lovely things like a cupcake decorating kit, a nintendo ds and faux fur coats x2! (my boyfriend and mum know me oh so well!) I got really spoilt this year because I have an amazing boyfriend (sorry for the extra cheesiness!) so it was really a pleasant surprise to get such wonderful things. I mostly got clothes really so I'm pretty set for my A/W winter now!

Seen as it's my birthday tomorrow there won't be a post, but hopefully I'll get one up of what I wore/got up to/things I got.

I really really hope you have all had a lovely christmas and a happy new year! I'm going to have a belated 'new year' kinda post later on so I'll give you all a proper thankyou then too. Next time I post I'll be 19 .. ahh!

I find it quite difficult to dress for A/W if I'm honest. I saw this dress in Primark on the 'sale rail' for a fiver. I am such a hoarder of shoes at the moment, I own far too many pairs and these zara ones are one of my favourites! (although not the comfiest!!)

I did the whole 'accent nails' thingy as if you spend over £6 on barry m nail polishes in boots you get this limited edition one thats silver glitter for free - and I really love it! I'm not a huge spender of beauty etc to be honest but it's nice to get new bits and bobs once in a while!

Got sent this lovely polka dot turban from crown & glory a little while back, great for channeling the black & white look. It was absolutely pouring it down with rain today and I just wanted to curl up infront of my heater with my laptop and a pot noodle. Looks like a very ebay heavy post, having the app on my phone does not help with my addiction - but it's christmas so I'm allowed to get myself some things now and again, right?

Recently I've been a little naughty and bought things I shouldn't..

Turbans are an odd fashion going around. They came about in summer and i just didn't think that I would be able to pull if off. I think they're alot easier in A/W, as 'hats' are needed in the cooler weather, and they suit an A/W wardrobe quite comfortably. I bought a red one and a black one off ebay, and they're exactly the same quality and everything as the ones in topshop etc, only ALOT cheaper! So I recommend getting them there, and they have lots of different colours. I'm thinking of getting a green/blue one next?

The shoes are what I like to think of as a more fashionable 'clog'. Remember when clogs were everywhere the summer of 2010? Well, I just found them a little strange, but I can't help but have a love of all things wooden when it comes to shoes. They're actually ridiculously good quality for something so cheap and are very very comfy. It's like walking on stilts and I did think they looked silly at first but now I adore them. Think they may be my new favourites.

The cardigan is just a nice aztecy tribally one which I actually saw in republic. Except the one in republic was pricier and not as dark as the one I saw on ebay, but I really liked it. I've been wearing it like everyday as it's really snug and honestly it's such good quality for such a cheap item - It's definitely my lucky month!

And finallyyyy the bag, oh how I've wanted the zara leather shopper tote for so loooong. I just had to settle for a lookalikey from ebay and it's slightly smaller, but still again great quality for the price.

I didn't really buy it all at the same time it just sortof came at the same time and took a while as most of its from China. Let me know what you think lovelies, as I'm in abit of a rush. I'm off out with the boyfriends family for a meal so I'm trying to rush this a little - sorry!

Works been high on my agenda and of course christmas shopping is soon to come - going to be upset to spend my hard earnt cash this month as it really is hard earnt! Alot of changes are happening to the blog - and including a name change! It's a big thing and its not all set up yet but I feel like I have changed and this blog has changed so much in 2 years and that it needs to reflect me better than what it is at the moment.

The jumper is so lovely, it was from my Birmingham trip in forever21 and it is just great for winter as its super comfy. The topshop leather leggings were a gift from my sister - she found them in a size 6 at a house swap party! I've been after some for AGES and couldn't bring myself to pay the £15+ price they're going for on ebay, and she didn't even know I was after a pair! My family know me wayyyyy too well!

I popped down to London and attended the Next S/S press day last week. It was nice to go down - I haven't been in a while and although I got quite lost and abit wet from the rain, it was ridiculously lovely catching up with and meeting bloggers! I'm so excited about Spring and summer if I'm honest - A/w fashion isn't my stringest point and next have such lovely clothes!

I'm hoping to record a little haul video or something over the next week or so - I've already tried once and hated my voice/mannerisms/the way I looked that I had to delete! I think I'm just going to practice till I'm happy haha.
Not quite finished sorting the entries for the contest (so sorry!) but I'm working so much recently - it's christmas time so where I work is now open until 10pm :| which means getting home at like 11:30pm on the bus as I do not drive! So I'm going to be quite tired etc but I'm really really going to try! I bought some AMAZING shoes so will need to show you them asap!

The bralet corsetty top always gets me compliments and I love it, and the ring is just the most amazing ring I've ever seen in my entire life!

On thursday I attended the 'meadowhall bloggers lunch'. Now, I'm actually from sheffield, so being invited to an event which takes place in Sheffield is bizarre - I was only travelling 45 mins rather than the 2+ hours it takes to London for the majority of events, so it was really lovely. They're doing a big campaign over October for their 'fashion month', and the day was alot of fun. We got to have a look around lots of stores new A/W stuff aswell as speaking to a woman from 'Evans' about body shape. When I enquired someone said 'inverted triangle', whilst another said 'hourglass'. I think I'm abit of both really!

I also got to meet some lovely ladies! I got to finally meet Hannah and Jen, who I've spoken to many times over twitter and regularly read their blogs - so was so strange to finally meet them. And jens first words were 'youre so tiny!'. Guess my photos really do make me look alot taller than I actually am haha. And I also met Claire and Lauren who were absolutely lovely! I love meeting other bloggers, they're always so down to earth and having a good natter about blogging is so refreshing - no one I know is really aware of this kind of stuff so it's nice to have people with the same interests!

We were kindly given a free complimentary meal at a new restaurant 'giraffe', which was lovely! My burrito (picture) was abit much so I couldn't finish it all, but it was such a nice place. Really healthy and definitely had a nice vibrant environment.

Will announce the faux arty ring winner on the next post - taken longer than expected as I've just been working so much recently. Went to Birmingham bullring this weekend with the boyf, and have a little haul so watch out for that. Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Indian summer

Weird weather going on in England right now, we're having a belated summer falling in the Autumn called an 'Indian summer'. Its all nice and sunny but my wardrobe is rather confused.

These floral shorts are my absolute favourite! They are two sizes two big which sortof shows on the pictures but they're super comfy and I pinned them at the back so they aren't toooo baggy. The converse definitely didnt get enough wear out of them this summer, but the summer was pants, so I'm making the most of it this week! The shorts and shoes were actually bought last summer! And I just never ever had a chance to blog about it, I'm such an awful blogger - woopsie!

Jar of hearts.

Enjoyed my two days off work, and have decided that I will try and update at least once a week as I've been neglecting big time, and theres just so much to show you!

Remember my white bustier bralet top from this post? well, its too big for me on the bust and I had to face the fact it just wasnt fitting me anymore. I tried to find one similar but couldn't, until I stumbled across a baby pink one. I bleached it and then painted it with fabric paint.. and voila!
The cullottes are vintage marks&spencers, and were actually like, palazzo trousers. But I cut them up into shorts :) The bag was such a steal, especially as places like topshop are charging extortionate prices for the little satchel bags!

My hair looks a little crazy, it' was crazy windy! I've been wearing my hair up alot at work as my hair is getting so long now, it just gets n the way.

These photos were taken on wednesday and I have only just had the time to do an official bloggypost - oh dear!
So much stuff has happened since the last time I posted -
I have a new (so much better and fashion related) job!
My boyfriend and I are now long distance
My bank balance is alot healthier - I sold lots of my old clothes and have been on quite the tight spending ban.
All my friends have left me and gone off to uni, I'm so depressed!

Other than that I've been pretty normal, I'm alot better now. I'm less anaemic as I've been eating lots of healthy fruit and vegg, and I've even started working out more so I'm just an all round fit and healthier person! I want to apologise for how slow I've been with blogging/tweeting/tumblring(haha?) as my new job has genuinely just taken up so much of my life. And if you were wondering - it's nothing fancy pancy it's just a fashion retail job, but it's miles better than my previous job! Bit miffed I couldn't go to any LFW things or the lookshow, but couldn't really take any days off my new job and didn't fancy spending so much money! Maybe next year, ey?

I found the dress amongst some old things of my mums, its a vintage dorothy perkins number and a size 14. To be honest its awful on the hanger, but belted up, a good pair of heels and a fancy hat, it looks pretty lovely!

I've wanted a black floppy hat for ages and of all places to have the one I wanted? PRIMARK. I love it, except it really is so hard to take pictures because it shades my face and I'm no expert photographer, so therefore I do not know how to fix the lighting problem except take many pictures until a few are OK. The hat is genuinely so good at 'making' an outfit. Put it with literally any outfit and you look 10x classier and more sophisticated, it's amzazing!
I also wanted a little harmonica necklace for ages and EE were kind enough to send me one, it actually works and everything! It's so quirky and cute I can't get over it!

So much has happened since blogging, and I hit the two year mark around the beginning of August. Unfortunately I felt I'd neglected lots of lovely outfit posts and wanted to make the most of the sun so I decided to do the giveaway a month later!

I absolutely love this skirt. It was a maxi that I took up and from a charity shop in London ageeees ago when I went to visit my gorgeous friend Hannah. It was too small for me and so have only started wearing it since I've slimmed down. I also wear it with my gorgeous camel jumper when it's colder which is perfect for the upcoming A/W! The clutch was a charity shop find by my excellent mother, and it seems to go with everythihng in my wardrobe = amazing!

Also got sent a gorgeous necklace courtesy of Eclectic Eccentricity. I got sent items a while back and I remember when they were quite a small company. Abit ago I saw one of their necklaces appear on the this morning fashion segement (yes I know omg I need to get a life and get out the house) and just thought how great it is that they have grown so much in such a small amount of time! But I've been sent a few of their new A/W samples and this one was one of my favourites.

TUTORIAL: How to make a Rainbow Layer Cake

When my little sisters best friend said she wanted me to bake her a cake, and she'd pay for the ingredients, I knew exactly the cake I wanted to make. And I don't know how, but it turned out PERFECT.

Saw a few pictures of cakes like this knocking about on tumblr and weheartit, and decided I wanted to do it. With not very much planning and alot of patience, I roped my little sister and boyfriend into a 'fun day of baking', which including me dancing and singing to super bass in my kitchen in my pyjamas all morning.

What you will need:

♥ 125g of self raising flour
♥ 125g of sugar (I used brown but you can use caster)
♥ 125g of butter (or margerine, I had no butter and was being lazy!)
♥ 1 tsp of vanilla essence
♥ 1 tsp of baking powder
♥ 2 eggs
♥ at least 2 cake tins of the same size. I had 3, they were like £2.99 from tesco or something.

All of these ingredients need to be avilable x3. This list makes up one bowl of mixture, and this needs to be done 3 times altogether, so you need to have 375g of flour available etc. One bowl will be poured into two cake tins.

1. Throw it all in, not sure which order it's supposed to go in, but do the floury stuff first then eggs etc after. Make sure you sieve the flour and sugar!

2. Mix.

3. Divide into two different bowls.

4. Add food colouring into one then the other. Different ones of course!

5. Mix.

6. Repeat two more times.

7. You should have 6 bowls of colourful mixtures!

8. Grease the cake tins, pour in the mixture & Pop into the oven, middle shelf at 180 degrees for 15 minutes!

I did two lots of three, as three fit on one shelf - make sure they're on the same shelf so they all rise to THE SAME level without faffing about as some will cook different times to others on diff shelves!

Now for the icing ..

I decided on this one with rice krispy bits and hazelnuts in, its the tastiest thing ever! But choose whichever chocolate you would like :) or even non chocolate version!

♥ Icing sugar
♥ Hazelnut syrup (optional)
♥ Chocolate
♥ Butter
♥ Milk

To be honest I just threw it all in and mixed till it looked 'right'. I don't have measurements cause I just build it up to the right consistency! I'm sure there are some recipes online though :)

9. Melt chocolate. I used three bars

10. Add icing sugar, milk and melted butter. Stir and keep adding icing sugar and/or butter till a good consistency.

11. Place the first piece down and add icing.

12. Layer it up and ice inbetween like a burger. (it looks like one aswell to be fair!)

Leave in the fridge.. then..

VOILA!

Enjoy the yummyness of the uber amazing rainbow cake my lovelies! The waitress at Frankie and Bennys was 'oohing' and 'ahhing' at it, and all my sisters friends were taking pictures of it - It's definitely an 'impressor!' Oh and again sorry for so much food on my blog guys haha, I know it makes everyone really hungry!

The Jumpsuit

The Jumpsuit and palazzo pants fashion which has been around this summer was a big no no for me. I'm tiny, and I always thought the flared look was well.. silly. But it has started to grow on me, and my mum rung me telling me she bought me a few goodies. Let me tell you now, my mum is honestly amazing, she is just like me, and if she sees things cheap she thinks I'll like in charity shops etc, she'll get it me. I get all my bargain loving from her, and when she gets my little presents its always a lovely surprise.

She described on the phone she'd bought me 'a halterneck jumpsuit' .. Halterneck and jumpsuit in the same sentence? I did the whole 'ohhhhhhhh thaaaaaanks' kind of voice down the phone. I wasn't expecting to like it.

She picked it up from matalan in the sale .. and I've fallen in love.

I wore it out to my little sisters best friends birthday at Frankie & Bennys. Being surrounded by little 13 year old girls, people think I'm a little odd, but I get on with my little sisters friends so well, I'm sortof like their older sister in a way. Shes also like a family friend and so it was lovely. I made her the most AMAZING cake, and will be doing a tutorial on it soon, cause its just great!I decided to opt for sandals rather than heels as I couldn't be bothered to tot around after being all bloated from food!

I took the sunglasses and hat off because it started raining haha and I look stupid! But I like both, with them on and off, so I've got both :) I could have benefitted a belt that actually stayed on my waist too, but I haven't had a chance to buy on! My mum also had to take this up by ALOT. It's a size 8 but jeeeeeez it was SO long on me! I definitely am tiny! I think that because I'm small chested I get away with this style alot easier than I used to, so I definitely am in love with jumpsuits! I also realised how much my mum knows me more than I know myself haha

I was pleasantly surprised, I haven't been to Frankie & Bennys for yeeears! I chose their Red French pizza, because it sounded yummy! And it really was, the dressing was so nice, something I didn't think I'd usually have as I'm so picky. And I couldn't even finish it, it was massive! And after that, a bowl of chips and cake, I'm sat at home feeling very full. I only ever eat out once every 2 months or so, I've been out to eat twice in the same week! I've been spoilt rotten hehe :)

Also would like to say a quick word on the riots, I don't want to get into the politics of it all, of course it's heartbreaking and horrific to see, and I hope that all you bloggers have been keeping safe! There have been some really amazing volunteers and people helping out, and it would be great if you could do your bit. Follow the riot clean up via twitter and operation cup of tea. It's been really difficult for everyone, but really touching to see communities come together and help, but I really do hope everyone is okay, and thoughts with anyone whos family or friends have been injured during this time x

Date Night.

I must admit, I haven't been out properly for such a long time, and I'm such a fussy eater that I feel quite sorry for my will-eat-anything boyfriend as I'm so hard to please when it comes to food!

We decided to go out for a meal, and I decided it was a great opportunity to dress up! He picked me up from work and we wandered around for abit, and I did get some strange looks off people - it wasn't exactly 'warm' outside!

I mentioned on twitter how shocked I was that this outfit has no second hand or vintage! Truth is, I saw this playsuit on a mannequin in quiz and thought it was just a perfect 'summer' playsuit. Unfortunately they only had a 10, and my mums attempt to take it in wasn't all that great so it is still pretty mahoosive on me, probably shouldn't buy things two sizes too big for me next time but I loved it and this was the last size!

The shoes were a steal on ebay at a tenner, I recently sorted my shoes out and realised that I own pretty much black heels?! These are great for all my summer dresses and playsuits, super comfy and quite different! I really like the straw canvas material on the wedge part - very summery!

Being vegetarian everyones always curious as to what I 'actually' eat, which is a shame because people forget how many great things you can eat thanks to quorn! But when I mentioned to a colleague I was going for chinese they were just shocked as to what I could eat! I personally chose vegetarian chow mein, egg fried rice, spring rolls, chips and curry sauce - and it was bloomin lovely! My boyfriend opted for a massive plate of sweet and sour chicken with prawn sesame toast and shared the chips and rice with me.

It was at a chinese which me and my family always used to get takeaways from and is my absolute favourite, and was also ridiculously cheap. We then nipped to blockbuster to get some cheesy films (national treasure anyone!?) and munched on these amazing pretzels..

My sister brought them back from America when she went and this new shop across from my work stocks them! They're very pricey, along with frooty loops and lucky charms cereal for like £8! But obviously thats the price of shipping etc - but flipz are honestly my favourite snack ever!

Thanks for such wonderful feedback on my last post and I'm hoping to keep up this frequent posting, it can be quite frustrating to have someone always around to take them and then to actually look nice or be pleased with them - the pictures were after a chinese which left me very bloated and tired! But my little sister was very sweet and we rushed and it took about 5 minutes so it was fine. It's also the first time in ages I didn't wear red lipstick out and about, but I figured I would give it a miss seen as I was going to be eating.

Set fire to the rain

First of all just need to have a huge apology for taking so long to post. But thankyou for sticking by me and hello to some of my new readers! :)

I think recently my style has evolved a little - matured, shall we say. I feel alot more adventurous with what I can wear now and I'm not too fussed whether it's deemed 'generically fashionable' by other people on the streets or whatever.
I've really started to love bustier tops, my lace bustier top has actually gotten too big for me :( but I've also got a light baby pink one and this new black one which I'm in LOVE with, I haven't stopped wearing it!

The maxi skirt trend has been knocking around blogs for ages now, and I've had this one for at least 2-3 months but never known how to style it. I wasn't going to keep it as it's HUGE on me and maxi's seemed like they couldn't be my thing as I'm so tiny at 5ft! But I love it and at 50p it is such a steal! And vintage - which is even better :)

Thrift bit: Harry potters glasses

Today I'm sat at home crying cause my boyfriends off seeing Harry Potter and I'm just chillin in my jim jams eating lots of ben and jerrys. Best friday I've actually had in a while to be fair, but hey-ho. I'm waiting on wednesday to see it with my little sister and do the whole 2 for 1 thing (I'm poor, it's got to be done!) but I'm super excited. I've always loved Harry Potter but not until a few years ago did I actually get round to reading all the books, and obviously fell quite in love. I'd seen all the movies (thats a given) but the books are just so so much better. It's one of those things like the royal wedding that makes me so proud to be British, and although it wasn't really for me, it was for some people, their childhood. My boyfriends dad used to read the books to him when he was little, and hes always had a soft spot for the books/films, and I think it's lovely that books like that can give kids this huge happiness and crazy imagination, just feeling teary thinking about it haha!

I found these mini glasses for 30p from a carboot and fell in love, now this was ageeeeeees ago. Only recently popped a chain on it and decided it's quite fitting, with every single Harry Potter thing going on at the moment, why not? Here is my homemade harry potter glasses necklace, whatcha think? :

PROM

Prom was quite sad really. I'm going to miss everybody. Having been at my sixth form previously for school, not just the last 2 years, it's strange. The dress was made by me and my mum, we originally bought THIS ONE, but it was poorly made/too big/and too poooofy. So we returned it in the end and and then we basically copied it. Only we changed the bottom to a waterfall kindof effect which I LOVED in the end and beaded it by hand instead of how it was actually done on their dress which was some shitty sequins which looked horrible. The outcome?.. Took me 8 hours to bead 1000 gold bead embellishments and oh my god it was worth it. I loved my dress in the end and I am so happy and proud to have made it and to have something so elegant and 'prom' like. Most people had evening dresses etc but I wanted a PROM dress, ya know? It's my last ever prom! The only time I'm goign to dress like this again will be my wedding (erven though leets be fair, the pictures of me and my boyfriend look like we have just gotten married haha!) My mum got me a tiara and everything so I really did look like a princess but honestly, I wanted to go all out, and James even bought me a corsage, the cutie!

Sorry for lack of everything, Been busy with making the dress and work, and I don't want to make any more empty promises of blogging regularly but I have been to the odd carboot and have things I need to show and sell! Also, I've missed you guys.

Some of you know and others not so much really, but I am in my last year of sixth form/college and it was my last ever day on friday. Honestly feel so sad just thinking about how much I'm going to miss people, and just being in education in general. Time to start growing up, and I'm so sad to leave the comfort of school behind me, I've had ups and downs but honestly feel like I'm welling up just talking about it haha. *sigh* Still have prom to look forward to (and my prom dress, I've picked it!) so it's not all tears, just yet!

Thrift Bit: Stone Rings

Sorry I haven't done one of these in ageeees, I've been mega busy (story of my life!) and I have my first exam in 2 weeks, so if you don't see my face around the blogging world for abit you know why!

Whenenever I go a carboot and have something I want in mind, I usually find something similar quite alot of the times. It's not cause I'm lucky really, I think it's when you go out and know what you want you are more likely to find it, which is what has happened with these stone rings. I love the style at the moment and how unique they are, and look really nice with lots of other chunky rings.

I've been feeling ill again recently so todays outfit was pretty casual, but I really really liked it, and the jumper is my new favourite thing. Obviously I didn't wear my 'killer wedges' to school, haha! I wore my primark black ballet flats, so I thought I'd wear these shoes for the OOTD, you know, any excuse to whip them out! It's also a pretty thrifted outfit today..

I love chunky rings and this one was £12 off ebay, and there are loads knocking about. And you know what? I don't have £100+ to spend on a ring so it will do :) Plus it looks like it from far away haha and came in a pretty little box :):)

I know alot of you are abit funny with knockoffs but to be honest, I have a lookalikey mulberry and a YSL arty now, and if I could afford the genuine article I'd get it but.. I'm a student that spends buys their clothes from carboots haha :) More outfit pictures to come my lovelies :)!

But thankyou so much for the positive feedback, I would definitely consider that style when I'm older, but for now I love my long hair haha :) I also fooled all my friends on facebook AND my parents haha in real life, they thought it looked amazing hahahahah. So so much fun ;) Aussie are booking us in for a free cut or dye but I don't really want either? I was thinking maybe a bit brown for summer? I lovbe this cardigan, I got it last summer and it was such a steal for £13, It's such a unique take on the 'cricket jumper' trend everyone loves, the florals make it great for summer and the comfiness is great just cause summer in England usually means 'the sun is out but it is still cold so bring a coat with you' haha.

I feel bad for fooling you all with my haircut, but I think its great you were all honest, some of you admitted you actually prefer my old hair and some said it looked amazing. Please let me know any ideas you have on my hair, I would love to get it ombre-d, but its wayyyyyy too overdone and I don't think it would suit me anyway. Thoughts are more than welcome. Bet you didn't think I'd be showing you one of these for a loooong time ey? Seen as I work at 11am on a sunday, it's rare I get to go to a carboot, but I've been making my family wake up early so I can get back in time which I feel bad about, but this carboot buying and selling via ebay is money I need for my travelling next year!. Here are a few things I pciked up, I will be showing more in outfit posts rather than just a huge haul post, I dunno which you guys would prefer? But I don't like just showing it in one go I wanna space it out. Anyway.. here we go!

I'm keeping this (not selling!) for winter, and to be honest I want it to be winter just so I can wear this badboy. So cheap and so beautiful in real life. nomnomnomnom

My Killer Wedges.

I have had so many comments and emails about my wedges which I recieved for christmas for me to properly show you them, I wanted them to have a post all to themself but took forever to find an outfit which matched it the way I wanted. So when I got my new leather shorts and bustier top, I thought it all looked perfect together :)

For people asking where I got them from, I don't know, they were a christmas present!I'm really sorry! All I know is they are not from the UK (US maybe?) and cost quite abit as they were my main present!

The bustier top is probably my favurite thing at the moment, it's perfect with all my vintage high waisted shorts that I have acquired (and can't wait to show you!) The leather shorts are also amazing with crop tops and this bustier top, I love the whole combinaton. I wore it on a night out and felt very naked (obviously) but I love it all put together with my chunky rings (which I also need to show you) jesus I have bought so many clothes recently!

Also, how amazingly sunny has it been? I've been working pretty much every sunny day that has cropped up, bar today, in which I am suck inside doing my history coursework anyway!

Sorry I've not been doing my regular Share Sundays, honestly I feel like if I can just do it when I can raher than every sunday its not only easier for me, but means theres less stress. To be honest I've been busy because my love life has significantly changed.. not that I really talk about my personal life on here, but it probably explains alot as you all know what it's like when that happens! I keep dissapearing, I'm surprised you guys haven't forgotten what I look like, ahahah.

I missed a sunday post as I've been really busy with work, I know I said I'd stop with the excuses and say I was going to be posting normally but like I said I don't want blogging to be a chore, and so I don't want the pressure of posting alllll the time, only as often as I can do.

I actually took these last week but I couldn't find my camera lead, then I couldn't find my battery charger, etc my life is such a mess right now, thank god I have a whole 2 weeks off sixth form to sort it out. Honestly my room is unrecognisable right now.

A while ago I was contacted by Lizzie who makes her own jewellery in the name of her brand 'EABurns', and wondered if I would like to be sent something. You probably all know by now how big I am on independent companies who work hard to handmake things and such, and when I saw what she made I was ecstatic to recieve it in the post.

The necklace is genuinely amazing quality and its so different to any piece of jewellery I have owned (and I own a hell of alot!) and the best bit is you know its made with love and care. I got so many compliments on it because of how unique it is, and I love the colour too, its very 'me'
The cardigan is also my new favourite cardigan (taking over from my previous burgunfy number) I love the shape and just how it fits, it's gorgeous and the khaki is great for the colder summer days.
ALSO my hair is straight for the first time in FOREVER, and look how long it is! My friends were all commenting on how different I looked and I prefer my hair curly but its strange to see how different my hair looks straight.

I've also come into the world of new technology and now have an iPhone 4. It's pretty and new and I can't get over how much I looove it, and I have a few covers for it that I wanna show ya cause they're awesome.

1. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I know right, Too long? I think so!
I haven't been anywhere other than sixth form, work, home etc and I took a much needed break. I think I forget sometimes just how much I have on, and as much as I do GENUINELY love and appreciate this blog and its followers, It's alot of pressure. I feel pressure to look nice, have something good to say, a nice outfit, look nice etc and I just felt overwhelmed. I didn't want what I loved to become a chore but it did, so I stopped before I resented the whole of blogging completely. This break has made me realise I do miss blogging, but it shoudln't be something I dread doing. But now, I'm much better and have so many outfits and charity shop finds to show you, I really really cannot wait! I am genuinely sorry for being away, I know it's not like I am obligated to post all the time but I feel like when I read blogs I kinda expect them to post often enough to validate me being a 'follower'.. you know?

2. Anyway, not much has happened. I'm still quite tired from sixth form and work, and not much has changed. Got alot of stuff regarding coursework and I realised my exams are soon but HEY, I start my 2 week easter holidays soon and more than anything means I can get much needed loooooong rest. I'm also starting up my online shop which I've been banging on about for months on end haha, but I will have the time to launch it so YAY!

3. The picture is of my dress I wore to a recent work do, and no, I wasn't overdressed. It was a proper evening attire kinda thing and it was SO lovely to meet all the workers from my region! The dress was £20 and my mum cut a slit into it as I didn't like the length as it made me look frumpy cause I'm so short! The heels were £12 and the clutch was £2 from a charity shop? I dunno somewhere like that haha and earrings £4 from primark ;)

4. Thats it for now, I'll be posting regularly starting next week with a few bits and bobs that I've not had a chance to show you, including clothes from motel and other places which I am soo desperate to show you!

1. The picture is my shattered state as I just got back from work and I'm in my pj's haha, life of a fashion blogger isn't always glamorous ey ;)

2. I took a week break from the blog and I feel like I may need a little longer. I've actually decided to get rid of my usual 'Wednesday Wishes' posts as I genuinely hardly ever buy things brand new anyway, and I can't keep up with 2 regular postings a week, so sorry about that guys!

3. I know so many other bloggers have said it already, but it would be incredible if you could donate any money you can spare in aid of the recent earthquake in Japan. I don't really need to go into how devastating it is as you will all be aware, but they really need all the help they can get right now.

4. Not much else to say other than tiring weekend at work, but am going out next fri and saturday so will be even more shattered, but it should be fun. I'll try get an OOTD up in the week, but again sorry guys. I'm pretty much fed up of everything internet related, just need to relax!

1. I've been getting very disorganised with, well, everything at the moment. I need to just have a couple of days off just to get my life together, but with lots of coursework deadlines at sixth form and work taking up my weekends, it seems like It's just not going to get any better :/

2. Been quite ill this weekend, so work has been a pain to get through. Moan moan moan, wah wah wah.

3. Received some lovely things in he post that I a very excited to blog about, so I need to fit that into my timetable to take some OOTD's but it should be worth it I hope.

4. I'm feeling really uninspired at the moment and I'm trying to keep this blog going with as much enthusiasm as I can but its genuinely getting so difficult. I was considering taking a blogger break, but I feel like I owe you guys to post as regularly as I can. After all, I'm almost at 1500 followers(!!!!) and I don't want to let people down. But then again blogging is starting to become this big chore, and I don't want it to be that, I want to enjoy it again. Hmmph, I'm not sure, I guess I'll just see how I feel!

5. I've deactivated my Facebook for abit and it is the most therapeutic thing in the world, honestly. I'm only doing it for a week or so to get al my coursework stuff out the way, but genuinely means I don't just sit there chatting to people and go on it for no reason .. big stress reliever!!

6. I'm wearing fake eyelashes in this picture, which I never really ever do but have been when going out etc. They were ones I got in the look goodybag, by 'eyelashesdirect.co.uk' What do you think? :)

I actually spoke about this dress via twitter in that I won it for £3.50. It was just described as 'asos smock dress' and the picture was genuinely awful, I only really wanted it because I saw the crushed velvet and peter pan collar, but didn't think it would look as lovely as this in person..

It's actually a dress from the asos petite collection, and there are some on ebay for £18 here if you want to take a lookie. Mine is a size 6, and I'm usually an 8 or occasionally a large 6 but because it's very loose it fits anywhere up to a 12 really. This dress so reminds me of the much loved TBA dress except you know.. cheaper and more realistic. Although I'm still unsure where I would wear this dress, but for £3.50 I can genuinely afford to just leave it chillin' in my wardrobe. Very satisfied.

I was stuck as to shoes to wear and because this is a cheating OOTD as I didn't wear it anywhere it was just for your benefit, I decided I'd go barefoot. And to be fair people on my street think I'm abit weird anyways with my sister taking pictures of me all the time, let alone wandering barefoot. But there you go. Things I do for you guys ey?

I'm wearing my mirror necklace I got in the matalan sale a while back and I thought it looked really good, and I've done a messy topknot as these days I'm getting a little lazy with my hair, not gonna lie.
My legs are looking super duper pale again I'm not sure why, but I really want summer here asap. It looked sunny yesterday but no, it was infact cold. Hmmmph.

So I may do a guide like my carboot one on ebay, not that I think I'm an expert, but key words and stuff to get the cheapest stuff, cause my god ebay is getting SO pricey these days. So that is on the 'to do list' along with a million other things, but bare with me!

#08 Wednesday Wishes

1. The dress is so lovely, and I think everyone loves going on modcloth to look at their beautiful vintage inspired clothing. I really want a dress like this to go with some tights I got from topshop last year that I have never worn because they're a little tricky.

2. Ages ago I mentioned an asos canvas bag and this is basically it only smaller. I love the palette and think it would look so good with everything in my wardrobe (and with my bags breaking left right and center I need a new one pronto!)

3. I used to have hello kitty and duck ear buds but both broke and now use some really short ones, meaning I have to put my ipod in my bra when walking around. And it's cold. But I want these cute ladybird ones cause they're very kitsch and quirky and I love things like that.

4. Nowt special, this is just my concealer that I've run out of and need some more. So yeah, it's on the list!

Boring one today cause I haven't had time to want anything but a nice little OOTD tomorrow.. I know right, two OOTDS in one week? I'm getting more organised!

Hometown Glory

Today was an 'I cba' day so I threw on what was clean. I also thought it turned out quite nice so here are a few snappy snaps.

The cardigan is always on this blog but It is literally the comfiest thing in the world. I just shoved on some leggings from primark, and my new look silk shirt that I got for more then half the retail price via ebay. I actually adore it!

Not much to say today, got a few pretty things to show you including this bralet corset top that I got and is aaaaaamazing. Like one of those items that just fits right and feels right and looks so good. I will show you all soon no doubt!

I broke my favourite alexa mulberry lookalikey bag :( I was running to work and the strap broke off. It was temporarily fixable but only so I could hold it, it looks daft as it is tied to the handle bit. So I need a new one. And to top it off I broke my chiltern-esque satchel (pictured) :( The strap has also come off haha. FML. This one is more fixable though with super duper glue. *sigh*

Also, in English Language today we were talking all about language used in blogs etc and it was so weird talking about them... seen as no one knew I had one! And how they don't really know as in depth about like, the blogging communities and stuff etc, it was strange to hear them talk about it so objectively. And she also mentioned the word 'fans' which made me cringe, I don't think anyone is a 'fan' of my blog, I see people as friends and followers. How bizarre!

Just thought I'd try do more OOTD's, even if they're a little boring like this. Expecting some nice things in the post so will update when all that arrives. Hope you're having a nice first day of March (February literally went so fast!!)

1. Today I have just finished my first weekend back at work, and more than anything I'm just shattered. I did a 9 hour shift on saturday and a 6 hour shift today and I'm genuinely just so so tired. I'm so happy to be back at work and everything but I forgot just how much work is involved, how I am on my feet literally alllll day (in heels!) and how busy meadowhall gets. I am thankful and I don't want to seem like I'm complaining, I'm well aware some people do way more than this, but just feel so tired right now. I think I'll be better next week.

2. I'm back at sixth form tomorrow and unprepared as ever! I said I'd get more outfit posts done over half term which I didn't -slaps wrists- I think I've just been relaxing and taking it easy.. cause starting tomorrow I will never have a day off. 5 days a week at sixth form and the remaining weekend at work. Safe to say I'm not going to have much time, but I will always try and update the blog. It is a huuuge priority to me so don't worry!

3. I wanted to get alot of stuff sorted for my shop aswell, which hasn't happened. I'm not sure I properly mentioned but I'm starting an actual shop, not a blog shop, where I make clothes and jewellery and rework vintage stuff, but I'm just getting behind with planning. Hopefully it will be sorted!

4. I'm hoping to go to a carboot next week before work.. now keep in mind I start work at 10:30am on a sunday, I will need to finish by 9:30am to get to work on time.. so I think it will be a 6:30am start? Sounds about right. Not looking forward to it but I want to go to a carboot, I'm SO determined!

The Look Show S/S 2011 : the 'outtakes'

As you all know I was lucky enough to attend The Look Show last week, and here are the pictures I took whilst in London, sorry I didn't get many and sorry this is a very ME post, my sister was my 'photographer' for the day hahahah.

You can see my wedges quite well here and I'm soooorrrrryy I haven't done a proper post on them yet, they will get their own special bit! And sorry there are just loads of me doing different faces hahaha, I wanted to get more but I was literally so rushed off my feet, I so wanted a picture with all the lovely bloggers I met but I didn't have time!

We then got back to the beautiful hilton hotel. We looked SO out of place there, because it's really posh and whatnot but everyone was so nice and we had a nice time chilling at the bar. Although bar food was so expensive, for a 330ml can of coke it was something like £3.50? I'm not even exaggerating.. I know right.

So I went into my hotel and had a nice feel of the bed. SO COMFY.

And got changed into my pjs..

And then this was just casually waiting for us..

It was such a lovely end to an evening. I'm just an 18 year old girl from South Yorkshire who goes to sixth form, and staying in such a nice hotel and getting this in my room was such a luxury and I am SO grateful, you wouldn't believe. The cupcakes were so nice! It was so nice to share this with my sister too, shes like my best friend and we had a girly chat and relax after the night, despite lots of other bloggers going to other shows - I couldn't, I was wayyyyyy too tired! I had a nice bath and we chatted for ages and got a feast from a nearby tesco.

I also nipped into this really nice pizzaria and got some pizza, I've never been to a proper good pizzaria, it was so nice and so cheap at like, £1.50 a slice!

The next day we checked out and I was off on my way to meet the gorgeous Hannah from London-Rose, we are literally like the best of friends and I wish I lived in London and could see her all the time, but it was nice to see her, if only for a little bit.

I did get so many strange looks as I was walking around in my crazy wedges but I just thought hey fuck it, I'm hardly ever in London, and they are piss easy to walk in. On the tube I got told twice by two randomers how nice my outfit was haha, which was nice! I love the tights, so happy they were in the goodybag as I've wanted some for ages! Oh and the bag in this picture with cupcakes on was my gift to hannah for christmas/birthday haha.

Wowee thats it! All over with my look show posts. I had such a wonderful time, again thanks to Lara and all the look people for arranging such a fantastic day for me and my sister, and to all the other incredible finalists who were there, you're all amazing! I'm so grateful to have gotten the chance to go and enjoyed every minute of it, and I hope you enjoyed me going on about it for the past 4 days haha (sorry!)

I've got my first day back at work on saturday (eeeeeeeeeeeee!) and school on monday (ughhhhhhhhhhhh!) so lots of stuffs going on, but I'll try and fit in an OOTD before february is over (where the hell has it gone?!)

#07 Wednesday Wishes : Look show special

This is a special wishes post, I've decided to combine the things I loved in particular at the show and what I would wear them with. All these things were in the look show.

This dress is amazing. If it wasn't so expensive it would for sure be my prom dress, *sigh* and I could never justify spending that amount on something I'd wear once (or you know.. twice.. it could definitely be my wedding dress hahaha)

These shoes aren't in any of my pictures but it was on one of the outfits from Dorothy perkins, and they're very *me*. The colour is so beautiful and the flower detailing, makes me so excited for the colours coming up in spring!

This necklace is just really lovely, I saw it on one of the jumpsuits ensembles from monsoon and loved how it was very simple and beautiful.

So I know that this hats red sash doesn't really go, but I figured that you can't really see the shoes with this dress and I cheated a little cause there were surprisingly not many floppy summer hats in the show, and the only other one was a Dorohy Perkins one that is only available instore and therefore couldn't get a picture of.. so you get what I mean. This was featured on one of the outfits but I cut off her head I think, haha.

The Look Show S/S 2011

This is my official rundown of the highstreet shops at the look show and what to expect in the upcoming season! I was so so lucky to be sat RIGHT at the front! And I tried to get pictures of most of the outfits, some are blurry so sorry about that.. but here we go :)

New Look

New look have mixed it up this season, from parisienne chic in number #1 to ditsy prints in numbers #3 and #4, they've got it covered. I love the sheer shirt in number #2, paired with gorgeous shorts make a lovely little outfit for S/S. Picture #6 is very bright with a vintage twist, the collar peeking through the crotchet jumper is very unique and the trousers are a gorgeous colour which clashes perfectly with the bright shirt. The bright dress in number #5 is another staple piece which will be perfect for the summer colour lovers, and the clash of orange and bright pink shouldn't work but really does.

Favourite ensemble - Number #6.
Favourite item - That sheer shirt in picture #2 is definitely my favourite, It is on my wishlist!

Verdict - Known for being affordable, new look have hit the nail on the head with keeping with the new trends accessible but still perfect for S/S. I feel they could have been a little more adventurous, but I know they are going to be perfect for the people who just want the key trends at affordable prices.

Dorothy Perkins

Dorothy Perkins loves their pastels this season, and fits perfectly into spring with the bold pieces. The mint green dress and jumpsuit surprised me, the colour would never be something I would have liked previously but works very well within their collection. The peter pan collar in #5 is a carried on trend from A/W, but updated with a bright floral print. The 'scalloped edge' is a key trend coming up in S/S, and they got it right in number #2 & #3, again using pastel colours to keep up with the S/S colours.

Favourite ensemble - #6 has all the key elements of S/S, the floppy hat, to the bright tapered trousers.
Favourite piece - has to be #1 for me, that dress is gorgeous and flows so beautifully!

Verdict - Not as dull as I expected, Dorothy Perkins uses the key trends of pastels and textures that are needed for the upcoming season and I feel a few staple pieces in this collection will be snapped up quickly!

Uniqlo

I have to say I have never considered even shopping at uniqlo, but for me their collection stood out as the most unique. Geek chic rocked throughout, #1 being the most obvious for this, with a good mix of colours with the turquoise shirt, pastel pink cardigan and beige chinos. The camel trend has come back in #2, but updated for the season mixing it with a floral blouse and double denim working well in #3. Umbrellas were up, which reminded me that yes, it may be summer and spring but it's still the UK.. we will have rain no doubt! I loved that their was a mac in this collection at #5, as they are key in the change from winter to spring. Numbers #4 and #6 channelled the Alexa Chung vide, pretty breton top reminiscent of parisienne casual chic and the ditsy dress with the cardigan reminding me of a laid back spring look.

Favourite ensemble - The double denim at #3, I'm happy to see this as a trend coming back!
Favourite piece - The mac in #5, it's a staple!

Verdict - Geek chic all around, the Alexa Chung inspired pieces are the most unique of all the collections and are definitely a brand to watch. I love they were the only ones to include a mac, as that is a staple and so for that I salute them!

Monsoon

Ahh monsoon. Mixing the tribal and ethnic patterns, I can't even complain that they do pretty much the same thing for most of their S/S collections, because they do it so well. Gorgeous jumpsuits at #4 and #6, not usually my thing, but worked so well on the catwalk that its made me craving one. Number #3 had the hippy inside of me excited as I realised that tie dye is back! It's not in your face, it's muted by the camel and beige colours, but its still very exciting and worked well for the S/S collection here. Number #5 shows off a bikini in style, I actually am in love with the feather headdress and the ethnic vibe is channelled through this and that lovely little fan. The pastel grecian style dress in #2 is bang on trend with the palette and the design.. pleats are definitely in this season!

Favourite ensemble - Both jumpsuits in #4 and #6 ensembles are my favourite, the mix of ethnic prints and a bold blue with gold jewellery is perfect!
Favourite piece - That maxi dress with the flower belt at #1, perfect statement for summer.

Verdict - Tribal and ethnic prints, everything is stunning. I didn't expect anything less from them of course and although it's pretty much the same as everything they've done, they have done it oh so well. Thumbs up!

M&S

M&S for me were always a little too mature for me, I'm 18 and so they are great for maybe 30+ in my eyes, but never really pushed through with a younger audience.
That being said, the pieces they have shown for S/S work well for both, a mature and younger consumer. Number #2 reminds me of an Alexa Chung style, bringing the trend of sheer shirts and camel into one. The swimsuit in #1 was definitely more mature in my eyes, same with the dress in #3, but the prints were still versatile and could definitely work well with the younger folk. I loved the denim dress in #5 and the bikini with tapered trousers in number #4, not just bang on trend but very different from what I expected from M&S, so was a lovely surprise to see such a a change on the catwalk. I literally love the dress in number #6, on a hanger not so much, but the way it has been styled on the catwalk with the chunky gold necklace makes me want it so so bad.

Favourite ensemble - #4, it works well together and the necklace brings in the tribal trend.
Favourite piece - the dress in number #6!

Verdict - Mature piece but work well for the S/S, I love that they have been alot braver in this collection and that if I looked at this collection without knowing the brand, I would never in a million years guess it was M&S. Definitely a strong collection.

H&M

H&M is all about brights this season, bringing it in the form of #1, the colour block tee with the pleated bright skirt is perfect for the S/S trends. The outfit in number #4 channels vintage yet again, the blazer with tapered trousers should really be something that is for an older person, but it works really well put together and with a pair of lovely dark heels it channels everything about spring. That dress in number #6 is gorgeous, and as it came down the catwalk I was in absolute awe.

Favourite ensemble - Number #1, perfect brights and pleated skirt make it bang on trend.
Favourite piece - That gorgeous dress in number #6!

Verdict - For me this collection from H&M was abit.. meh, I love H&M but wish they'd push the boat out. They used alot of brights but failed to experiment with all the other trends that are shouting out this S/S. That being said, that dress is one of my favourites out of every single collection, so I can't complain!

Mango

I love the worker chic vibe coming from number #1 and #2, the oversized blazer and sunnies channel yet another vintage outfit, and the sheer shirt make mango a collection that is up to date with the S/S trends! Polka dots all around in number #3 and #5, in the form of gorgeous dresses, a staple for any wardrobe and something different from the other collections at the show. The gorgeous pleated dress in number #4 channels grecian goddess, and is made a more S/S piece with a splash of colour, in a gorgeous pink. The ensemble at number #6 is one of the more unique pieces in this collection, layering of shirts and jumpers and the paperbag shorts make it an eclectic mix of different textures and colours.

Favourite ensemble - Number #6
Favourite piece - The dress in number #4, I am in love!

Verdict - Never really been a lover of mango, but there is a huge variety with these outfits and gorgeous pieces that make it work for the upcoming season.

Next

Next are probably the people that shocked me the most. I have never really liked next, I found them quite boring and like M&S, never pushed through to get to a younger audience. I feel like this collection is very unique to the others, the perfect mix of dusky pinks in number #1 and brights in number #2 gives it a huge variety aswell as a younger appeal. Number #6 has the scallop edge worked into he blouse, perfect to that key trend but also in a camel colour - perfect for the spring palette. Number 4 is very unique and has that vintage touch, something that works so well together and has the bright trend with the orange shirt, and the vintage necktie.. bringing two trends into one. The ethnic dress in number #5 has a tie dye feel to it, with a gorgeous pattern finished off with some wooden bangles, it has taken a leap out of monsoons book and gone all out for the tribal theme. The ensemble in number #3 is one of my favourites, vintage chic in the form of a cute little playsuit, bow belt and straw bag, its one of the more unique pieces from all the collections and appeals to me for having that vintage edge to it.

Favourite ensemble - Number #3
Favourite piece - The scallop detailed blouse, works perfectly with pretty much anything!

Verdict - Definitely the shocker of the lot for me, I actually love each piece from this collection and think next have definitely got it right in how they styled it, to the pieces they have actually done for S/S. Not many of the collections have done play suits which is a shame as they are a staple for summer in my eyes, but the one from next is on my wishlist for sure!

Warehouse

One of the unique there, warehouse went all out on this eclectic collection. I adore number #3,the whole outfit works so well together with a bright top keeping with the S/S trends, and leather shorts to add that bit of an edge. The dress in number #4 is perfect in every way possible, bright colours and an ethnic theme make it perfect, and a maxi length to boot. If I could pull it off I would snap it up, unfortunately being as short as I am I think I better leave it for the professionals! Number #2 doesn't scream out S/S to me, but it's definitely something that works well for the season. The floppy hat and chunky belt make this outfit modern and trendy, and the printed skirt makes it very young. The jumpsuit in number #1 makes this collection what it is, it's so unique and bright that it makes my eyes hurt a little. Although maybe not the most versatile thing, it;s one of the best in the collection.

Favourite ensemble - Number #3, I love everything about it!
Favourite piece - That jumpsuit in number #1, you wouldn't be able to sit anywhere in fear of staining it, but it's incredible to look at!

Verdict - This collection is the 'luxe' collection, so doesn't come as a surprise that they aren't really the most versatile pieces compared to say new look, but they are still pieces that are key for S/S, keeping in with the trends and if you are more of an 'out there' person in your sense of style, this collection appeals the most. It's not afraid to go there, and I have to give warehouse props for that!

River Island

As many bloggers have noted, river island has become bigger and better in the past year, pushing away from the stereotypes of being a little common and overpriced in their clothing, to a more vintage and elegant feel. This collection shows just that side of river island we love, The polka dot jumpsuit at number #6 is one of those things that is just perfect for S/S, and worked well with a rust coloured blazer, a key colour for S/S, it's a great ensemble overall. The dress in number #3 is a lovely vintage print, tied in with a red vintage scarf and red clutch, it mixes it up a little and keeps that vintage feel but with a twist. Number #2 uses the crotchet trend in dress form, very laid back and oversized for the S/S. Brights are shown in number #1, in a really unique way i comparison to some of the other collections, which I think works really well. I don't even need to explain how much I am in love with the miu miu inspired trousers in number #4, the off the shoulder tee makes this work so lust worthy, and I cannot fault the outfit in anyway.

Favourite ensemble - Number #1
Favourite piece - Those swallow trousers at number #4, yumyumyumyum!

Verdict - Perfect and my favourite collection, although next comes a close second, but the swallow print trousers just clinch it for me. River island you have done it again and I am genuinely so excited to have a sneaky purchase of a few of these gems!

French Connection

I'm actually quite impressed with this collection, they have kept on the scallop trend with dress #1, I love the cream colour and the shift design. The camel coloured leather skit in number #4 is actually gorgeous, and one of my other faavourite pieces of this collection, The sheer shirt trend is again present in this ensemble and the layered gold necklace brings it all together. The bright top in number #5 teamed with muted shorts lends itself perfectly to S/S, I love the tribal inspired clutch too, it adds a little edge to the whole outfit. The dress in number #6 is yes.. my FAVOURITE PIECE OF ALL THE COLLECTIONS! Oh my god, when it came down the catwalk I nearly died, I love everything. The coloured, the way it moves, the pleats, it's totally grecian goddess and it doesn't even need any accessories, it's so perfect on it's own.

Verdict - A lovely collection, made even better with that dress in number #6, I feel that the whole collection has variety and flair. Although it seems quite mature, I love the mix of textures and shapes.

I hope you have enjoyed this lengthy rundown, it took me so so long to write this and edit and crop the pictures, but the look show was great to get to see the upcoming trends and the variety of what is on offer. Each high street store offers something different which I love, from the lovers of geek chic to the ones who just want affordable key trends, it has everything.
Thankyou so much to the look magazine people for picking me to blog for them, it was such an experience and made me want to go into fashion journalism even more as writing this was tiring but so enjoyable. And thankyou to Lara for organising everything and keeping me and the other finalists up to date with everything, it was organised wonderfully and I had such a fabulous time.

1. These are the photos that my sister and I took in the photobooth at the look show, new look offered hats and sunnies to wear and as you can see I chose a huge floppy hat and white ray ban esque sunnies. I look so summery!

2. So you all probably know I went to the look show on saturday, and It was all pretty crazy really. I had such a lovely time and there will be two posts on it, first being my view on the whole collections and the second on my whole time in London.

3. I met lots of wonderful bloggers - Lily, Michelle, Victoria, Laura & other blogger finalists Sara, Nneoma, Maffionista and Amelia. I am a little miffed I didn't stay and chat and take pictures with them or anything for very long, I was actually late to the show due to late tubes and check ins and I'm just a late person in general (woops) so I was pretty rushed off my feet! But it was so lovely to meet you all and surreal to actually speak to the faces behind your wonderful blogs! (and sorry if I missed anyone out!)

4. I'm pretty tired from my amazing weekend, and I came home to three lovely ebay packages with a new dress, playsuit and leather shorts! It was a nice surprise and I'm now going to go off and have a nice takeaway and an early night. Speak to you all tomorrowww :)

The lovely Sophie sent out this incredible beauty and as soon as I saw her mention the word 'rock' I knew exactly how I would style it. I've gone for a sort of mix of girly vintage with an edge, the wedges are what I mentioned in my previous post and as you can see the wedge isn't too high and they are actually rather comfortable (most people don't belive me but I guess I find most heels comfy!) They are also rather scruffy cause they are my 'going out shoes' haha, probably should have cleaned 'em up abit before these photos.

It's handmade and can be worn as a collar too, but I can't get over how amazing it looks in my hair, and it totally makes this outfit what it is! I don't want to preach to you all about where you should shop etc, but I love companies like crown & glory, she clearly loves what she does and takes time making handmade beautiful hair pieces, and I know that I'd rather own something that has been made with love and is unique than a million primark headbands that everyone owns. So take a peek at her other things if it's up your street, she does little hair clips and allsorts too :) I figure they are going to be a big hit when summer comes around and I'm tempted to buy all the flower based hairbands in her shop, they are ridiculously beautiful!

So I'm off to the look show in London tomorrow, and have even given myself time to see my gorgeous friend Hannah from London Rose, and I can't wait cause I've not seen her in ages! I'm going to spend time with my sister whos coming with me to the look show too, so all in all I'm reaaalllyyyy excited! If any of you are going, make sure you say hi if you see me and I will be wearing my staple vintage headscarf (of course!) and a camel coloured coat with my polka dot skirt :) I'll make sure I take lots and lots of snaps and what not and keep you up to date with all the lovely things going on in the day via twitter. I'll also have a huge blogpost afterwards about what went on etc so yeah, I'm so excited! :)

#06 Wednesday Wishes

1. I'm not just wanting this floral topshop bralet, but I'm really loving all bralets in general at the moment. I think they would look so nice with high waist leather shorts or underneath a sheer shirt, and after losing weight I feel like I may be brave enough to pull one off. Well too late as I've gotten two off ebay recently, so I'll let you know (or show you!) how it goes!

2. I've been cheeky again and these velvet topshop knickers have actually been bought by me already, but I've been lusting after them for months, so when they cropped up on ebay I just couldn't resist. I don't think I'm brave enough (or have the legs for) wearing them without tights however, but would look nice with a nice bralet like above!

3. I am such a tea drinker and I already have a poster of the keep calm and carry on image, but I'd love to expand my mug collection and get some quirky ones, and this is a must in a vintage lovers house like myself!

4. Again, cheek cheeky me. I wanted some fairly low wedges for nights out as I am actually quite good in heels but obviously the lower the better. These along with my asos randal wedges are now a staple for a night out as they are so so so so easy to walk it compared to heels or higher wedges. And they are just a cheapo brand off ebay, but for the price I think they're quite lovely! (although are knackered already, but I've worn them on a few drunken nights out, so I'm to blame, not the shoes!)

I found out today I am currently number 5 on the 'up and coming blogs' page of bloglovin'! I have an account but never go on it, so I hadn't written the title so there was literally just the link rather than the name, so I didn't notice for ages whilst looking at the 'popular' blogs section earlier. I cannot believe I'm number 5 overall and number 3 in the 'fashion' category.. It feels like such a big deal to me because there are loads of up and coming bloggers on the list that are incredible, and I've not alot of followers on bloglovin' in comparison to them, so really I'm so happy. I feel like the blog is definitely getting alot more attention at the moment and I am so thankful you guys are being so supportive (another cheesy thankyou) I feel like I should be accepting a speech or something haha.

I'm PROMISING, genuinely promising a outfit post tomorrow before I go to London for the Look fashion show (if you are coming, tweet me and let me know, I am very active on twitter and always try to reply!) So looking forward to that. And what have YOU been lusting after this week? :)

If you're a bird, im a bird

I bought a new playsuit recently that I've literally been after for ages. It fits very strangely, it's a size 8 but is constantly coming down at the front exposing my bra, which isn't exactly what I'm wanting to show in my everyday life quite frankly *sigh* but it's loverrrly. It's a topshop ruched jersey playsuit from ages ago, and so finding it on ebay was a treat.

Spent my valentines with my friend alicia shopping and then going out for a friends birthday. Feel a little fragile today nonetheless haha but very happy happy. Cannot wait for the look show friday to meet other amazing bloggers and have a good old look at the fashion show.

1. Sorry I haven't done OOTD's like I promised, I wore pretty much leggings and tees this week to sixth form, I've been sleeping really badly and so I wake up late and have 10 minutes to get ready.. not good. Promise next week I will try, but I'm going to be quite busy..

2. Remember I mentioned all that stuff about my job and how they weren't getting back to me? Thursday I had the worst day and was so fed up I said I would ring that day and if I heard nothing I was gonna give up.. but I recieved a text off the manager saying its good news and so I rung him and I've got a permament part time position! It's not 100% official as I need to do all my paperwork etc, but it will be 15 hours a week and because I am now 18 it goes from £3.69 an hour to £4.50. Yes, I worked £3.69 an hour for my christmas temp job, it was horrible! I am so so happy though, I missed everyone there and now I have a proper job so I can add more for my gap year funds. Only sad thing is that its weekends and so I have a 11am start on a sunday.. not sure how I will be able to carboot with this! I may have to start waking up at like 5:30am ahaha which I'm not looking forward to :/

3. You may have heard Look magazine were running a competition that bloggers could enter to be one of five finalists to get to sit front row at their look fashion show (the amazing Lily won last year!). All you had to do was send them a link to your blog so I just thought hey why not, and I totally forgot about it.. until I logged onto twitter friday and saw lots of my followers congratulating me on becoming one of the finalists! It was the most bizarre thing, so I checked my emails and there it was. I'm still in shock as SO many amazing bloggers entered, and I only entered on a whim around 3 days before they were to pick their top 5, so I am genuinely so shocked and very happy and all the emotions you can possibly feel about something like that. At the look show they will pick a winner out of the top 5, but I already feel like I've won.. I mean I get to go to LONDON and stay overnight and watch a fashion show for free. I literally am the happiest person in the world. Check ut the other amazing finalists here, here, here and here xx

4. So after all that I've literally just had the best ever week of my life. I've got a job and found out I won a contest that I had completely forgotten about! So friday I went out and celebrated at propaganda where Greg James (love him so so much!) was DJing. Suffice to say I got a little too drunk and had to leave early.. but hey! I was celebrating.. it's allowed ;)

5. Lily has already mentioned it (and mentioned me and therefore given me a surge of followers, thanks Lily!) But I'm going to this blogger meetup in sheffield, and so many incredible bloggers are going that I am so so so excited to meet! Check it out if it sounds like your cup of tea :) And I would love to meet you guys, so if you are able to come just let Lauren know and she can send you details etc! It's at the end of march so you have a while to plan things etc :)

6. Tomorrow my teachers aren't at sixth form therefore I get the day off for valentines, just a shame I'm single really haha! Well, I'm going for a starbucks with one of my lovely friends Alicia then going out in the nighttime. I'm going to have a good old single valentines day :)

#05 Wednesday Wishes

1. Valentines is around the corner and yes I am single and no, I couldn't care less. I want to treat myself so most of these items on the list will probably be a reality haha. Anyway, I remember abit back when bags like this were everywhere, and I've recently started to love them again. I want one to wear on valentines day, as I plan on drinking my single sorrows away haha no but seriously, I want a heart bag, they're so effing cute.

2. I want a nice red lipstick and I only own two, and I think this topshop one is quite nice, and others that have popped up around the bloggersphere. I may just invest in a MAC one though, it's only a bit more expensive and you know, it's MAC.

3. I don't wear pumps alot, I do but I try not to spend alot on them as I have so many and at any chance I get I wear heels (5 ft still and counting!) but these Marina pumps are ridiculously cute, and with a vintage playsuit in summer I can see it being a staple. Oh wow, talks of summer clothes already!

4. Ahh, THESE TIGHTS. They're everywhere, have been everywhere and I wasn't even bothered at first. I like the idea but hey, I didn't really want to get strange looks off people for wearing them. That being said, I reckon they'd look nice on a night out, worn nicely not trashily, and I'm trying to be more adventurous this year. It's always nice to shake things up aswell, and these tights pretty much make an outfit what it is!

I have a case of the 'bad blogger' syndrome at the moment, so I'm sorry, been very lazy and lacking any kind of inspiration. I've had alot of extra followers recently too, so sorry you're following me at such a 'meh' time on the blog. It will get better!

1. Had a busy weekend! Went out for my sisters 24th birthday last night and it was this reggae night thing.. not particularly my 'scene' but it was lovely and went on till 8am .. :| I stayed till 3am as I'm not particularly a party person, but my sister had a nice time and thats what counts. I wore my new blouse and shorts and my hair above looks a state because it was raining and being windy like a bitch. I was also frozen the whole night. But still. Good night :)

2. Still getting stressed about work not getting back to me on vacancies as even if they have none they should let me know, so I'm gonna ring em sometime next week. I feel like I need a job, not just for money but because right now I feel so useless not doing anything productive with all this spare time!

3. Been on a spending splurge so ofc there are lots of things to show you, but I'll spread them out.

4. There is something special I recieved in the post that I will blog about tomorrow or tues, it's exciting!

5. Sorry I've been slacking, laziness and illness is the reason. I'll be better next week, promise :)

As bloggers I think we tend to strive for perfection on our blogs, and I hate hate hate when the lighting is pants and my photos don't turn out quite as 'crisp' as I would like them. But then I have to remember that overthinking things is a little silly, and that without its imperfections here and there (so many things need to be updated on this blog its insane!) then I don't think it would be very me. I'm not a perfectionist, although I try to be I'm naturally quite blahsay about it all.

Anyway Here is what I wore to watch Black swan with my friend Ceri yesterday.

The film itself.. I'm no film critic but I'm very hard to please film wise and have never been as blown away by a film in my life. It's confusing and exciting and I definitely came out the cinema thinking 'wtf?!'. I recommend it (just like a million other bloggers have already done so) thoroughly. It exceeds the hype!

I wore one of my new ebay purchases too which you can't actually see, but I promise I wore it -

I remember seeing this necklace on one of my favourite charity shop blogs ever, Emma was getting rid of a few things and after genuinely lusting after this necklace for ages I got it for a lovely £7 and couldn't be happier. Blah Blah I know I have too many necklaces but you know.. I've wanted it for so long!

Sorry it's so late, just got back from black swan at 11:30pm and realised it's a wednesday, arghh!

I really wanted a tab blouse from topshop, but new look have some for almost much half the price! They ran out of stock but I got this blouse for a cheeky £10 off ebay, so it's not really a wednesday 'wish', but It's still something I've been lusting after!

I have lots of crappy primark umbrellas and have been wanting a lulu guiness birdcage umbrella for ages, but at the price I'm not sure I could justify it! Still gorgeous and vintage esque though :)

The claw ring from topshop is so statement and reminds me of the arty YSL ring because of the colouring.. *sigh* wish I could justify a ring, but with my huge collection it just isn't happening!

Lets not lie, I would probably never even wear these shoes, but aren't they the cutest?

1. I went out friday properly for the first time since I turned the ripe old age of 18, and had a lovely time. I was going to take a picture of my outfit but didn't have time!

2. The reason for me going was actually due to recieving a quite surprising sum in the post from work. I know that I was supposed to be paid commission this date, but apparently I have also reiceved 2 weeks worth of pay on top of it! At first I thought it was a mistake but remember I hadn't been paid my last two weeks of work.. yes! I'm really happy I now have money to purchase some materials and such as well as a few cheeky nights out.

3. The materials I am in need of are for the online shop I'm hoping to start up end of march, vintage esque playsuits and dresses all handmade by meeeee. I'm excited to get it all going, and I'll keep you posted with the progression etc :)

4. I've spend this weekend recovering from the friday night out and am about to tackle some coursework whilst watching dancing on ice. Brilliant.

5. I'm a little behind on the blog front, sorry guys. I'll get back to it all soon enough, just had a busy old week!

Thrift bit: Owl necklace

Owl necklace, charity shop - 99p

I'm not really a silver jewellery person to be honest, but this is pressing all the right buttons in my eyes, it's vintage and it's an OWL. I have 4 owl necklaces now, but I can't help it! I've cheated a little this week cause my mother actually bought me this when out and about and thought of me when she saw it, I love that she knows me so well! It does have slighty rustiness due to it's oldness but I don't care, love lov love it, and at 99p it's a great little thing and something to not feel guilty about having .. (especially as it was a gift!)

This feature came about when I was thinking just how much I miss posting on my cheap things from carboots, I just haven't been because of winter and they unfortunately stop :( I feel like my second hand and vintage twist to this blog makes me more unique, not necessarily completely unique, don't get me wrong, theres LOADS of charity shop bloggers etc, but I feel like the bloggersphere has so many blogs with the same things (wish lists and roundup posts included!!!) that I wanted to be a unique stamp on my blog. I feel like people enjoy the things I buy compared to if all I ever bought was high street or designer. Don't get me wrong, I love blogs that are just highstreet and I am always uber jealous, but alot of my followers say their favourite part of my blog is the second hand stuff, so basically yeah. This feature is going to have a little 'bit' of thriftyness, so one item that I've gotten that was second hand/cheap. This may stay only until my carboot hauls come back, as I know they are quite the favourite with people!

Anyway yeah, thats just a little snippet of what I've been feeling about my blog, would you agree or disagree about the second hand buying thing being quite a popular theme on my blog or have you got another favourite? Just let me know, I'm always excited to see what you guys have to say! :)

This is a rushed one.. currently multi-tasking a million different things this very second!

I wanted these suede leggings from topshop for ages but they are now out of my size :( I'll just keep my fingers crossed I see them instore or they pop back up in a size 8. I never thought they would be my style but I think they'd look great with a rust coloured tee and my amazing wedges (which I still haven't blogged about, meh bad blogger alert!!)

I recieved Vera wang princess at christmas, it's amazing and ridiculously cute, and I want Marc Jacobs Daisy to add to my pretty small perfume collection. I know bloggers like these perfumes cause the bottles are to die for, but I quite like them just cause they smell SO good! And I recieved a £10 boots card from my cousin so I think I'll put it toward the perfume when I next have monies!

This ring is from forever21 and on ebay at the moment and I just think it's really fitting with the fashion at the moment, I'm not really one for silver jewellery but I think it's better silver, and matched with dark lipstick and dark lace blouses for a 'grunge' look. Yum!

Haha a moustache corkscrew. Nuff said really?

This satchel bag, aghhh I want it SO SO much. I have a few bags but I just feel like this bag is so perfect for summer, it's a light bag and I seem to have lots of brown and black bags and argh. I just need it in my life, you know? *sigh*

Rolling in the deep

This title is inspired by Adeles new gorrrgeous song, it's incredible and I love her voice. That girl just keeps on amazing me!

I wanted to picture the leather jacket on a seperate post but it just fits with the outfit so well I couldn't not show you.
I cleaned my hallway on the sunday and found an old leather jacket (the hallway hasn't bee sorted for a LOOONG time!) and I think it's just an old one of my mums or something. Nonetheless I quite like it and it's got a tight fit so doesn't make me look huge. The belt has also just appeared from some of the old things I own and it is very tight, but matches my brogues and bag quite perfectly .. (which look very orange in these photos but they aren't that orange in RL!)

The clothes were what I got from the topshop sale! The top is a 12 but has a nice baggy kinda crop fit. The trousers however are only a 10 but are ridiculously big on me :( I'm not sure wether to ebay them off or not, as I've wanted some navy chinos for a while now..? But I need to start purchasing clothes that actually fit me well haha. What do you think?

Also, I know I'm breaking all the rules in the fashion rulebook by having navy and black together but I've never gone by that rule as I have black hair, so whenever I wear navy it's going to have that effect haha!
Other than feeling like a little bit of a biker chick I quite like my outfit today, and I know you're all getting sick of my vintage headscarf in every picture but I literally haven't taken it off my head!

Thankyou for such a great opinions in my previous post about universities, if you have an opinion honestly, the longer the better! I've read all of them and they genuinely help as you guys are the ones experiencing it, and I'm so lucky I have followers to ask these kindof questions to. 1. Today theres no red lippie and I'm donning a nice little smokey eye. I also have a floral headband on that was £1 from topshop reduced from £8. I remember when these came into fashion and everyone was wearing them and I hated them but now they aren't so popular I quite like them. No one likes things that EVERYONE is wearing, it's just irritating.

2. You may have seen me talking about it on twitter but I'm struggling with the decision of uni or not. My situation is this - I'm gap yearing it next year to go travelling and I'm not sure whether uni is for me or not afterwards? I know that after my travelling I will probably have an idea but I'm still stuck so please give me your stories and opinions in this post. I figure theres no better perspective than you guys, and my sixth form is crap, it doesn't give people who don't really know if they want to go to uni an idea of what else there is, they just EXPECT everyone to go. It's not because I'm not capable, I'm just fed up with education. Anyway please please let me know, did you go/are you going to uni or not? Do you have any advice for me? :) I'm also not even sure what I want to study, MAYBE something fashion related but yeah, I'm stuck. HELP.

My jumper was off my mum for christmas in a lovely camel colour, the skirt is ridiculously old from a carboot which was super duper long and I shortened. I am wearing a variet of necklaces I just chucked & the ankle boots are another carboot gem. The domino ring was actually kindly send to me by Vicki, who thought I would quite like one of her quirky ring designs and she wasn't joking, It's ridiculously cute! She sells lego and domino handmade rings and I quite like how it matches my skirt really.. that definitely wasn't intentional. Ahh, I love it when an outfit just 'works'. Also, THE BAG. It has made an appearance HERE and may I say, it's quite strange how popular these chiltern esque bags have become on the bloggersphere! I'm quite smug that I got mine cheapo at a carboot long ago, so I thought I'd fish it out :) They go for around £20 on ebay but to be honest, I would actually fork out that much cause they are beeautiful!

This week has been blah first time back at school was today as I have been ill for a veeerrry long time, but I'm feeling better and trying to get more iron into me to make me less tired and more alert. I also had my English resit monday (thankyou for the good lucks!) and it went OK.. i.e. not as bad as last time. Hey ho, what can you do, I tried my best!

I hope you liked the first 2011 OOTD and there will be lots more to come! What do you think of the outfit, it's quite different to what I've worn before but my style is forever changing and this is trying to keep in with my new years resolution to 'not be afraid'. Also I decided that f*ck the cold I'm going to go outside and do OOTD's! Some bloggers can get away with it indoors but I can't, my lighting is crapooolah. And today wasn't too bad!

#02 Wednesday Wishes

When I saw this headband on Emma, I instantly fell in love. It's one of those colours that is perfect for the upcoming change from Winter into spring, and It's reversible so you can have it on the bow or knotted side. With a £29 price tag it's a little steep, but it's just so beautiful.

This £12.50 stag ring is huge. And I mean MAHOOSIVE. I don't really know how I would be able to wear this everyday, and actually at a special occassion as the antlers are very dangerous,but nonetheless it's one of those things you just want in your jewellery box to 'ooh' and 'ahh' at when you open it. Yum.

I had no idea accessorize did lingerie, and when I got these pants in lilac from my sister for my birthday I had a little look on their website and they have the cutest knickers! I particularly love this pair, it has florals, frills on it & is £7.. need I say more?

You know when you imagine something up in your head and you then stumble across it in real life in a shop and think 'oh my god they have read my mind!'? Well that is what happened with this baby, but at £18, I think I'm better off making one myself as it would cost less money. It's so lovely and I can imagine it sprucing up alot of grandad jumpers for me :)

I wasn't sure about this dress & it's £26 pricetag, but I have grown to quite love it, and it's making me miss summer so much! It's quite cutesy which I could wear with floral tights and pretty necklaces or make it less feminine with my nautical headscarf and sneakers.

& can I just say thankyou to the lovely response from everyone on my post about my hair, it's so nice that everyone likes it! I was scared cause I never try out new hairstyles but yes, thankyou so much :) There will be an OOTD tomorrow, as I have a pretty little outfit all planned for you beautiful people!

1. THE HAIR!. Notice anything different? I've done a middle parting because I am so sick and tired of my hair and I love how it looks! I also got a little carried away with the scissors and chopped some layers into my hair. I am not a great hairdresser and it looks slightly odd when straight, but curly covers up the mess I made haha. You may be thinking 'jeez kavita it's not a big change at all' but seriously guys.. I've had the same hairstyle for about 4 years. Not. Good.

2. Spent all week ill and this weekend revising. Bleugh

3. This blouse is one of my favourite finds, was £16 from matalan and is so similar to the ones knocking about in topshop recently. They only had a sz 12 left but it's so lovely and loose and great with leffings for a casual look.

4. I have an english literature resit tomorrow and I'm scared but confident. My revision should pay off!

5. I feel quite strange recently, newly styled my hair, I've bought lots of new clothes.. and just feel really different. In a good way of course, I'm looking forward to being able to do more OOTD's now I'm better too, but I feel like I'm being more adventurous with clothes. I think it's cause I've lost a little weight since turning vegetarian and I feel more confident with things I wear.

So please tell me honestly.. the hair. Yay or nay? :)

I've always loved grecian styled dresses and I saw this in H&M and thought it was so so cute! It looks better in real life than in this picture, and they only had a size 16 left in store :( Then in the christmas sales they had them going cheap but didn't have my size left! I'm still awaiting one to crop up on ebay, and going for alot cheaper than this one

Swallow socks are so cute and these ones from topshop are a gorgeous burgundy colour, and would look perfect with the Layla heels for a perfect miu miu copy.

I love typewriters and this necklace off love hearts and crosses is so adorable! I love online jewellery stores and this necklace struck me mainly because of how unique it is. The little paper thing even comes out and everything! I do own way too many necklaces at the moment though, so having said all this, this one has definitely got to be a wish for now!

This cuckoo clock is only a tenner, and because I am doing my room up, it would be perfect! I would prefer it in the cream colour but it doesn't show up as good online so I just chose the black one to show you.

The alass topshop heels have been and gone but I still adore them, and troll ebay hoping to find a second hand pair in my size. If anyone finds them in a size 3/4, you know where to find me! ;)

Yes, another belated one. Dear me!

1. I finished my job yesterday and yes, there were tears! I'm going to miss all of it really, (maybe not the 20 hour week on top of my sixth form as I had time for NOTHING!) but everyone I work with in particular. We had lots of hugs and goodbyes, but I'm hoping I'll be back soon. They want to keep me on and the head office has put my name forward, even if it's not for the same store, I'll get a part time job with the company within the next month. Fingers crossed anyway, but I hope a place pops up in the same store, cause I already miss everyone haha!

2. The reason this is belated is because I had my house party saturday, it was really good! There weren't too many of us, but lots of my close friends and we sat around and chatted and drank, one of my best friends passed out and they brought out my birthday cake and surprised me haha! It was a caterpillar cake (I know right, haven't had one since I was about 12!) and the picture is my face when I saw them bring it out. But yeah, I got to sleep around 4am, and woke up at 8am for work so I was shattered, as soon as I got home from work I fell asleep (in my coat and work clothes haha) and woke up at 1am! So I didn't have time to do one yesterday, sorry folks!

3. I wore a denim dress by primark that I got on ebay for £3, and my new wedges which I still need to properly post about. I'm going to post pictures from my party tomorrow on it's own post, cause there are a few nice (and sober) ones!

4. No job means more time to do this blogalog and good timing too, as having 1030 followers (can't even describe how crazy this is to me!) I need to up my game and stop slacking, good job I have lots of pretty clothes to show you all :)

5. I've had one hell of a week last week, with my 18th and leaving my job, but it was one of the best weeks ever and I'm in a good place in my life at the moment. I think my resolution of being positive has helped, I'm hoping 2011 is definitely my year!

6. I haven't had my email on my blog at all for some reason, I forgot, but it is - iheartvintagex@hotmail.co.uk , incase anyone would like to email me (for whatever, questions, chitchat, anything!) :)

Happy birthday to me..

Can't thank everyone enough for the birthday wishes via twitter, and if you didn't know, it has been my birthday today and it was actually very lovely! I'm having a party saturday, but today I just had a cinema trip and went for a family meal, and it was nice and relaxed. I was also back at sixth form, which despite the 3 hours of history, was nice to just see everyone!

Just a few snaps from my day. Went to see Harry potter with my bestie Josh, (yes, I hadn't seen it up until now, I've been busy!) which was good... but because I've read the book over and over it wasn't as good as when you watch a film and have no idea whats coming.. if that makes sense!
Then I went to a family meal with my family. The playsuit is what I got from the topshop sale for £18, I adore it. It's just so beautiful! The cake is what my 12 year old sister made and I love it, she put so much effort into it bless her and it tasted DELICIOUS!
The other outfit is what I wore to sixth form and then obviously at the cinema and I'll talk about the chinos I'm wearing another time, it was quite a laid back outfit to be fair, it was just too cold to not wear trousers!

Thanks for everyones lovely words, and one of the best gifts ever is to look and see I'm 14 away from 1000 followers, mind blowing. Honestly, thankyou so much, and I've had a lovely day! Roll on my party saturday! :)

Known from the ever so lovely 90210, Shenae Grimes has been on my fashion list for quite some time now. 1. Happy new year everyone! I had a pretty lovely one, spent with friends from sixth form and my besties. It was great to spend it with loads of people I knew and was just a laugh really. Above picture is my face on the day.. my dress was £2 from a jumble sale! I haven't actually got a very good picture of it, but I'll try show it all another day.

2. This time next week I will have done my last shift at work *sniff* Going to miss it all so so much!

3. Right now I'm sifting through a huge pile of photos to put into my scrapbook for my birthday. As a family, we're all making one for me to mark the occassion and suffice to say it's very nostalgic. I have changed so much, I'm practically a different person!

4. I've hardly done anything this holiday and I'm annoyed but hey, I've worked and just relaxed. I'm back at sixth form wednesday (my birthday, I know right) and not looking forward to triple history on that day. Woo?

5. This time next week my friends, I will have turned the big 1-8. I'm having a house party on the saturday and just a small meal and cinema trip on the actual day. I'm one of those people that sees becoming an adult a properly big deal if I'm honest. I'm ridiculously scared to grow up.. AGH!

A new years message

I did this last year, and I want to do it again this year. I know blogs are supposed to be full of pretty pictures and fashion but I just wanted a littlke post on a reflection of this year and what I hope for next year, I guess theres no place better to do this than on my blog!

This year was all in all quite boring compared to my other years. Yes there was drama and upsets, but in comparison to the previous years it is nowhere near as intense, and I've had an amazing group of friends (almost) all the way through 2010. I did have a time around 3 months before I started my job that I struggled, and I think everyone gets it. Where things just get hard, school was hard and I wasn't inspired and felt like it wasn't really worth trying hard in anything because I wasn't getting anything out of it.

Then my a level results came and you know what? I was damn proud of my B in history, and the fact that all the way through the year my teachers predicted me an E, definitely pushed me to prove them wrong. Although it wasn't nice being doubted all that time and it still hurts a little, I know I can slack sometimes but my god I'm not stupid!

I planned my gap year and even though the tuition fees have gone up, I've just stuck with my plans because at the end of the day, no stupid government is going to stop me doing what I want to do. Fees going up or not, I know by the end of 2011, I will figure out what I want, because right now, I'm really not sure.

I got my first job in 2010 and I'm going to be sad not having one in 2011. To be honest, I am going to be applying everywhere afterward just because I love the fact that I had money and was doing something with my time. It gave me a huge work ethic and I made some amazing friends out of it. I'm more confident to speak to strangers too, and if any of you bloggers have met me you will think I'm hugely confident.. it comes and goes. Infront of absolute complete strangers I'm nervous, and even picking up the phone at work was a challenge! But I'm so much more confident and I feel like a proper ADULT now. I've grown up.

I've been single throughout 2010 and damn straight I have, because god knows how I would have dealt with a boyfriend. I know the majority of bloggers have them, but I am ridiculously happy being single. I do get lonely from time to time, but noithing that spending time with my family or friends won't fix! I get annoyed when people think that because I've been single for 2 years (my god!) means I'm really pathetic or something.. but I just wont settle. If I wanted to go out and grab the nearest guy to have a relationship with, I maybe could do it.. but I don't want to settle. If I find someone amazing, then it will all fall into place. I'm not rushing into something false!

Blogging this year has pretty much gotten better. With having now reached 900 followers by the end of 2010, it makes me really happy to think people can relate to me and enjoy what I do and write about. I wish I could blog more, but everyone is so understanding about my sixth form and job, and I just want to say a huge thankyou. It doesn't even matter to me about how many of you read it, whether it's 10 or 900, I'm just grateful that you guys take the time to read it and I'm sorry I can't always come and check out everyones blogs. Alot of the time I do, but just don't comment, and I think I should o that more in 2011. And thankyou especially to all my regular readers, I know who you are that comment almost every post and I just want to say thankyou so much guys. You guys aren't just 'followers', you're blogger friends too, and to all the new friends I've made over chatting on twitter and such.. Just thankyou so so much. I hope I can keep it going smoothly in 2011!

New years resolutions :
1. Look after myself - After having this job I'm worn out, cranky, angry, emotional and downright tired. I need to look after me, and make sure I get enough sleep and have enough time for myself to just breathe.
2. See my friends more - I see them at sixth form, but I feel like this year I haven't seen them enough!
3. Go out more - Like to the cinema, clubbing, pubs, that kind of thing. I'm a homebody and I need to go out and let my hair down.
4. Declutter my life - With the people I don't need, the clothes that I DEFINITELY don't wear and the room that is always a mess.
5. Be an optimist, not a pessimist - This speaks for itself. I want to be a positive person start 2011, because lifes too short to be moody.
6. Be organised - Everyonen has this on their list, and I think this is the number 1 for me!
7. BLOG MORE! - Enough said!
8. Don't be afraid - Of what people think, and especially when it comes to fashion. I've played it safe alot this year and next year I just want to experiment.
9. Take more pictures - I have an amazing camera that I took months saving up form, and it is insured! So it's time to use it more!
10. Finally, just be happy. Because I have alot of people nad things that I am so lucky to have that some people don't, and I think I need to take the time to be more thankful for it. I know as a fashion blogger we can come across as materialistic, but I really am not. As long as I have my friends and family around me in 2011, everything will be alright (fingers crossed!)

1. Thats right, I literally just forgot! It's been christmas so I haven't really thought about my blog as much so it shocked me to look at yesterdays blog post and see it say monday and realise I'd miss my share sunday post! So it is a share tuesday (again!) Sorry about this. I'm so disorganised in life and when it comes to my blog it's no different haha

2. The picture is me with my pretty new moustache necklace haha, I love it! I recieved loads of necklaces off my mum for christmas in my stocking filler, and I can't wait to wear them all and add to my neverending collection of pretty trinkets.

3. For christmas I got lots of things, and you'll have seen some in the pictures in the previous post. It includes - Vera wang princess perfume, a SNUGGIE, A travel journal and passport holder and some various smellies. Lots of chocolate too! My main presents were a pair of wedges, but thats as much of a hint as I'm giving, and a NEW 22" LCD COMPUTER SCREEN. It's definitely a present I will use everyday and benefit from the most, I go on my computer all the time. I always watch my tv shows online too, and now on a big big screen! I previously had a 17"? I think and so it all looks so different, the dimensions are hard to get used to!

4. Work is good! I'm only a christmas temp and my placement is up on January 9th *sniff*. The work is quite hard and tiring, but I love love love everyone I work with, theres gonna be lots of tears!

5. I reached 900 followers last night when I got home from work and quickly popped onto the computer. All I can say is wow, and thankyou so much. You guys are so amazing and hello to all my new followers!

6. I'm still editing stuff on the new layout, but thankyou for such a positive response!

7. My christmas was amazing and you guys have left lovely comments, I'm sorry I haven't replied to all, I've had work (my number one excuse haha) and I have all the late shifts again, but I hope you all had a super duper amazing christmas, and I'll be posting about a few things I got in the boxing day sales (eeeee!)

1. This was a scheduled post because I've been busy the past two days but it never turned up on the sunday for some reason, so this is belated and is now a share tuesday? But it's still going to say it was sunday, I don't know its stupid and I hate blogger but I'll just update you with what I've been doing..

2. I still haven't done any christmas shopping but I've written my christmas list and I'm going on my day off tomorrow.. that being said, I still feel like crap :(

3. I was sent home from work within the first 10 minutes because I was ill, and I didn't even say anything, my colleagues could just tell I wasn't my usual happy self. I went in yesterday even though I was coughing and sneezing the whole time, so they just thought I needed a day off, which I did. So I'm spendng it drinking beechams cold and flu (which tastes disgusting btw) and listening to lots of relaxing music. Fingers crossed I'm better for tomorrows shopping!

4. My mum has said I'm allowed a house party for my birthday.. I'm really excited/scared. I've had 2 before that went abit shit really, so hopefully this one will be fine, fingers crossed! I'm tempted to do a theme like 90's or something, but not sure yet. And I'm not sure whether to have it on the 7th or 8th, the friday or saturday. SO EXCITED. Give me some advice anyway, could do with some tips as it's been ages since I had one! And my mums house is tiiiinyyyy, so I need advice on how many people to invite etc :D And anything else I can do for my birthday? It's a pretty special one!

5. Theres going to be a new layout and a complete blog makeover going on within the next few days before christmas, new year, new start and all that! I'm really happy with all my ideas and there are going to be a few more features on the blog, such as 'style crush' and 'wednesday wishes'.. so keep tuned for all that :D

TODAY I'VE STARTED MY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. WOOP!
You know what that means? Oh hell yeah, no more sixth form until the 5th of January (I go back on my birthday, FML) haha and that means lots more time for posts! Especially christmas themed ones, because they are my faaavourite!

I still have work, and if you follow me on twitter you will know that I complain about work 24/7, because I'm just always tired. But no school means 16 hours more a week to do bloggy related things. I'm really happy!

So today this is what I wore .. and the quality was really bad and after editing they now look really vintage-esque? I have no idea why but there you go, sorry about the fuzziness, the darkness is creeping in even at 4pm!

You will all have heard of Wallpaper Rose by now no doubt, as my favourite bloggers have all worn them in their posts before. The lovely Louise kindly offered to send me a piece, and I fell in love with this gem..

Shes called Alana and shes fast becoming my favourite necklace.

I think it's the fact that it's quite travel like that drew me in. I'm off on my gap year next year and I thought it was so cute with the plane, camera and eiffel tower.. I just couldn't resist it!

She sells the most beautiful necklaces, bracelets and even peterpan collared tees at the moment, and they are the best stocking fillers! Tomorrow is the last day for christmas orders so make sure you order fast! 1. This is a subway shirt I bought for a £1 from a charity shop in camden, and the mug is actually my sisters, but I do love Camden! It's the best top in the world and says on the front 'However you feel whatever you want' .. and on the back 'we've got a sub for that' haha! It's the work shirt for subway and is now my cosy tee to wear to bed :)

2. Work has been getting busier as christmas is just around the corner and I've only just started buying christmas presents, argh! I'm really hoping that they come in time for christmas because it's mostly been done online. And I haven't had post in a very long time because of the snow!

3. Speaking of snow, apparently next weekend there is going to be some more! Yesterday was the first time I left the house without wellies on, so I'm a little miffed, but a snowy christmas sounds pretty sweet.

4. I went into primark before work yesterday and bought a few pieces for work. They have the best clothes for work, pencil skirts for a fiver and blouses for £6, and they're actually pretty good quality! Primark have also got a few capes in stock, which I am tempted to buy as I don't have one yet and theirs are £20? Or maybe £14 I can't remember haha. But take a look!

5. I'm slowly getting better with my organisation, but I've been feeling really ill over the past 2 weeks. I've booked myself to see a doctor but it is definitely to do with my awful diet, it's not been the same since I turned veggie.

6. I just finished watching a batch of the latest season of 90210 online, it was super duper good, but cause I watched it in a bundle I noticed that the stories were always rushed. But it was good good good and I'm happy to be catching up with some of my shows in my spare time!

TUTORIAL - How to do the 'pineapple'

There are many different names for it, the ballerina top bun, a high bun.. but my friend lucy mentioned it as a pineapple, and I think it's quite appropriate. I loved wearing my hair like this as I hate how dull it gets when wearing it down, and heres a tiny tutorial on how to do it :)

Start off with curly hair, I do it with straighteners and lots of messiness!

After lots of backmobing, push the hair up from the bottom and build it from the top.

After pushing it to the top, twist your hair into a bun. Not right in the middle of your head but just high enough to see your bun from the front.

Brush down a fringe if you usually wear your hair like that.

Then you are finished with the pineapple!.. Add a vintage scarf for added loveliness if you like :)

Voila!

I've been so tired and fed up recently and haven't had a chance to do any nice outfits :( I need to do all my christmas shopping too! I got paid tuesday so I'm starting online shopping but I'm scared it won't ccome in time for christmas because of the snow.. it's supposed to be starteing again next weekend :(

1. I'm too tired. I went to London yesterday, caught the 8:30am coach and got there for about 1pm, then spent a wonderful day at the aussie bloggers market with some amazing people, left at 6pm, the victoria line was down so I had to walk to holloway tube with all the arsenal fans around as it's one tube stop away from arsenal. THEN, got my coach at 8pm, home for 11:30pm. Today I had work at 10:30am till 5pm and now I'm dying. I need to spend next week sleeping and catching up on work, I've been putting it to the back of my mind and I'm falling behind!

2. Speaking of London, I had a wonderful time, despite the 8 hours journey and shattering-ness.

3. And speaking of work it is very good, I looove my colleagues, they make it bearable! It can be quite stressful with christmas and the store being busy, things not being in stock, irate customers etc, but I enjoy going to work.. even if I get the 5-10pm shifts!

4. IT'S 1 MONTH EXACTLY UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY AND I AM SO SO EXCITED!

5. I am trying to get the most out of my outfits but you've seen what the snow is like in my city, and Honestly I've been wearing tees, hoodies, jeans and my leaopard print fur coat basically. I love fashion but I hate the cold, and keeping warm comes first!

SNOW.

I'm used to snow, as you all know I live in South Yorkshire, England, and for the past 2 years it has been chock a block snow. But not anything like this.

I took my camera out for a few wintery snaps, and my little sister and her friend accompanied me to the local park for some better snaps. We walked toward 'devils bump' the name of the steeeeeep hill in the park which is well known for it's amazing sledging experience, hence why theres quite a few people around! It started blizzarding like CRAZY, and I ran home in fear of a broken camera!

I even measured it as it went to the top of my wellies, and it is 13 inches thick. And the pictures pretty much back that up! I was let out of work early yesterday because I have to get public transport, and I luckily got on what looked like the last bus that evening, it was going very slowly up the road!

I also opened my advent calendar like most people, and my mum has bought me a thorntons one, it's lovely! It look's like it says kaviya but it does say kavita! AND It's my dads birthday today, and he got stuck in bradford teaching because of the snow, but luckily some trains were still coming so hes managed to get home for his birthday :)

I do think snow is beautiful, but my god I can't do anything in it. I'm going to London on saturday to the aussie bloggers market (let me know if you are too!) and I'm praying that coaches will not be effected. I also am gonna miss heaps of sixth form this week and I have to get buses there and they can't even run because of it's thickness. Despite all this, my snow day has been lovely and I'm now going to relax with a hot water bottle and cup of tea and catch up on lots of Gossip Girl, 90210, Desperate housewives and GLEE.. things I've been missing cause of work!

OH .. Do you like my coat? It's my khaki parka by fat face... But it was only £3 from a charity shop :) It's super cosy too, even if it is only a size 6 so it's difficult to layer up! The cat hat was from ebay last year, I can't remember the price and the wellies were 50p from a bootsale! .. And we've already put our christmas tree up haha, we're early birds ;)

1. Work work work.. that's pretty much all I've been doing/talking/complaining about. All in all I really love my colleagues, we have a right laugh, & they're all about 7-8 years older than me! I just feel abit tired really, and I'm missing so much school work cause of it! Just bare with me, I'll get over it and I'll be back to my bubbly self :)

2. I've finally finished my christmas list and I'll be doing a blog post on it soony, so so excited! Christmas is hands down my favourite time of year (not just cause my birthday is two weeks after or anything!..)

3. Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last two posts! I'll be doing a mini tutorial on my 'pineapple' do if people want me to, as it is actually quite easy to do. There will be more wintery themed posts as it is freeezing and I have 3 more coats to show you!!

4. ITS SNOWWWINGGGGG! I'm usually happy cause snow is beautiful, but getting to sixth form and work is SUCH a mission. I don't drive and public transport is not very frequent around this time. I live two buses away from sixth form and I have to catch a tram and bus to work.. nonetheless I wore my wellies to work on saturday. Tucked my smart trousers in them and everything. It had to be done!

Although it is the first time you've seen this outfit pulled together, it has been a staple outfit of mine for a while now. I really love everything about it, wearing my favourite shoes, bag, dress, necklace and cardigan all in one. I've also started donning the 'pineapple' hairstyle, which I wasn't very fond of at first but now love it, because I hate wearing my hair down all the time.. it just gets so boring! It takes several attempts to get the 'pineapple' however, because my hair is so long it doesn't like to stay up for very long.. cue heaps of hairspray and you're sorted.

I'm still trying to sort the lighting in my room so sorry for all the weird colourings of the pictures. I have to admit editing photos is not my strong point, despire claiming to love graphics haha. I'll sort it eventually!

I wasn't at sixth form today and I've started to become ill because of overworking and not getting enough protein and iron in my diet, I'm feeling properly drained at the moment. I will try and keep up with the blog though!!

Pumpkin Soup

I already sortof showed you abit of this outfit on sunday, but this is what I wore when shopping in town. The leopard print coat was mentioned in my 'how to wear' post and it is from new look, at a steal at £29.99 and you can still get them instore! My sister actually purchased it but didn't want it anymore, and of course I already had my eye on it so I'm buying it off her. It's so lovely and warm, my staple for the winter! It's a comfy size 12, perfect for layers :)

The ring was £2 from primark, headband from primark for £2 and the bag and brogues are not anything new.
The pictures aren't great cause lighting is pants inside, but I've got a place to take them against my wall, and theres a sneak peak at my fashion collage on the wall, I'll show it properly another day no doubt. But is it okay for OOTD? Let me know. It's getting too cold for outside pics!

Anyway, whatcha think of my new coat? There are a few other wintery coats I need to show you but for now, this is what I've been pretty much living in at sixth form!

1. Hello lovelies! I've missed having so much spare time, cause I started work on wednesday. A full day of school, plus a 5-10 shift, I got home at 11:30 and nearly cried. Had some work to catch up on and stayed up till 1am doing it, and didn't even attend school because I was so tired. I've started to organise myself more now though, so I've already sorted two OOTD for the coming week so you aren't starved of my blog posts, cause I know what I'm like. But work is good, very scary at first but I've sold 5 phones which isn't amazing but pretty good for my first two days! They gave me the weekend off which was nice, completely relaaaaxed and did coursework etc. So far so good!

2. Today I went to town for a little bit of shopping. I went to primark and got 3 things and then bought a starbucks and spent time with my sisters and mum. I wore the outfit above, which you will get a proper look at in the next week, but the headband thingy was £2 from primark and it's so granny I love it!

3. The picture makes me look really white. I never actually edit my pictures, but because it's getting so dark I'm having to up the contrast and stuff and when I did it to this picture it just made me look white. Maybe cause I'm wearing red lipstick too, but still.

4. On that note, I love wearing red lipstick, it makes me feel very sophisticated and glam, even thought I feel very overdressed when out and about in the daytime.

5. My dress code at work is office wear, so I need to purchase some good staple pieces as I only have about 3. Any recommendations? Obviously ebay etc, but any high street places I have to check out? Let me know :)

I love Aussie

If you have never heard of Aussie, then shame on you! They are a haircare brand that have been around for ages, and I am very much a proud member of their 'Luscious long hair' tribe. You will have heard of these 'tribes' on other blogs no doubt, and I chose mine cause, well, I've had long hair for years now! Recently I was sent a surprise package in the post which literally made my week!

Some Aussie slippers, hot chocolate, fluffy hand warmer, lavender heat cushion and take the heat products - cream and spray. Not to mention it was all wrapped up with a pretty purple ribbon (pictured)
This was to mark their 'take the heat' event on bonfire night, in which I was invited to attend. Unfortunately, I was ridiculously ill, and couldn't make it, which I'm still upset about. But anywho, I have wanted to blog about this for age, cause it is pretty much the perfect package for winter, and is so tempting to replicate this as a gift for friends and family! Who doesn't want hot chocolate and slippers in December? Amazing.

ALSO..
As part of being in the tribes, around summer we all got to attend a tribe party, and I happened to go to the one in London, which I never actually blogged about.. I don't think anyway. I'm not sure, but it was an amazing night in which I got to stay in a hotel in London and invite my friend Josh and hang out with the amazing Hannah and Charlie, but back to the story. The incredible people at Aussie had thrown these parties with themes to match the tribe, ours was fairytale. They have now compiled a book together to show the pictures from the parties and tips us tribe members have given -

This is such a lovely thing to have and I am so grateful to be apart of the aussie tribes, so a big thankyou to the Aussie team and all the other tribe members! I've wanted to blog about these thing but never got the chance, so sorry it's all abit late! 1. I'm in the middle of sorting out my work outfit for my first day at work at phones4u tomorrow! I'm opting for my red zara shirt and some H&M grey work trousers. I feel very smart but look about 25! I'm uber scared, I have to be there for 9:30 and am getting a train at 7:30 :| I usually wake up for school at that time, but to get there on time it's a 6am wake-up! I'm going all the way to Lincoln for a training day. Wish me luck!

2. This week has been pretty stressful, had a few essays to get done and all last minute (as I'm the most disorganised person you'll ever meet) On friday I went for starbucks with my besties, and it was so so lovely. I'm going to miss all this time I spent with them as having a job full of 21 hours a week and 16 of school, is going to be very time consuming.

3. I've started writing my christmas list and it's full of little homewares from places like urban outfitters. I'm really excited to get my room done up, as it is a mess at the moment as we're getting loft insulation fitted.

4. I actually wear glasses in real life, but I think they look hideous on me! I thought I'd post a picture of me wearing them for you guys though, as when I get home after sixth form, I put my hair up, makeup off and glasses on haha. Do any of you wear glasses but opt for contacts instead? Do you hate wearing glasses or do you embrace your bad sight? (ahah)

Odd Socks.

Wow, look how many OOTD's you are getting, I spoil you guys!
Anyway, today I wore odd socks. You know when you pick up a pair very similar but they don't match..

Well I clearly had my head screwed on the wrong way round because they are completely different (except the colour, I'll give myself that much credit) but just goes to show what mornings do to people. This outfit is another 'comfy' one, it was SO cold this morning, I'm wearing leggings and my big comfy cardigan and scarf.

I wanted to talk about my satchel and boots in this post because they are my a/w staples.
The boots were shocking at £50 off ebay, but it's one of those things I splurge on because I will wear them all the time and I have no lace up boots for winter. They have a small heel and the best part is they are genuine vintage, not the manufactured military boots you find everywhere else. I actually liked them till all the chavs started wearing them and they became a tad tacky. Alas, £50 well spent. Yumyum.
The satchel was £30.. oh I know, my gap year money is not staying in the bank very long. But it fits my arch lever file folders in, which is pretty marvellous, and it sortof matches the boots (I'm not the only one who co-ordinates my shoes and bags am I?) I also sold my old asos one, so it's more like I 'swapped' them on ebay, if that makes sense? Anyway, they are my babies, and I have been wearing the combo at sixth form quite alot, so it is money well spent!
OH, and the river island necklace was from about 3 years ago? A present from my ex, and one of the first necklacs I saw in this style, before this 'pocket watch' style trend even existed really. It is completely broken in every way, but I love it!

I was thinking about the higher tuition fees for uni today because of the big protest and how it will effect me because of my gap year. Of course I'm annoyed, but I have a choice. The people in the year below don't have one, and so I'm lucky, I could avoid it. But I decided on my gap year because I'm not ready for uni, and it's not the be all and end all. I may go off abroad and not want to come back! I am living for the moment, even if the future scares me (ee!)
My 3 amazing friends Joe, Roma & Tanith are all applying to Oxford, which is insane (you can all wish them luck too if you like!) They are all ridiculously clever however, and I think it helps that my friends are aiming really high, because it makes me want to push myself harder and higher and saving for a gap year does exactly that!
What are your views on the whole thing? Did you go to uni and was it worth it, or did you not go and do you regret it? Let me know, because it's always better to gauge general opinion when it comes from actual people!

Cause you had a bad day

And I'm not even exaggerating. It was not only AWFUL weather, but I SLIPPED. Yep, on my arse on the pavement... Thank GOD no one saw me, otherwise I would have cried! Well, that was a bad start. Then my umbrella was a poor excuse for an umbrella to say the least, it was a primark one so you can imagine how broken it got from the wind, and I STILL got soaked, which meant my straight hair was just.. fluff. OH my bus was 15 whole minutes late. And I wouldn't have minded but it was freeeeeeezing and was already in a bad mood from slipping.

It wasn't a very nice start to the week. And to come in for 2 hours of English I mean .. doesn't really seem worth it, eh?
Anyway. I decided to battle this awful day and take an OOTD as I looked presentable and to show you my new cardigan and boots. Oh and I wore this to school minus the red lipstick.. I added that because of the lack of other makeup.. stupid rain. UGH

What do you think? (besides the overgraininess of it all, sorry!) I love my comfy new cardigan, even though it's WAY too big for me. Not just 'oversized' kinda look, I mean REALLY big on me. But nevertheless it's toasty. And the shoes are pretty special.

I have a black pair of ankle lace ups HERE, but they are battered old things, these are very very sturdy for the winter (didn't stop me slipping though, bleugh) and look a little like doc martens, but not as bulky. I will probably sell my other pair cause you know, it's a waste to have a pair of shoes so similar!

And I wore my favourite necklace and ring. Oh and my favourite tee actually which I haven't properly mentioned. It is a proper breton top from a carboot for 50p, it is also very large (I think I have a baggy clothes problem!) and super comfy.

It's winter .. I'm allowed!

You've also had a little look into my living room with our nice new fireplace, just in time for winter! Although this blueness of the room not only camouflages my cardigan but makes these pictures depressing but HEY, I tried my best! It was 4 o clock.. it gets pretty dark around then!

Watching - One tree hill season finale .. was INTENSE to say the least!

1. I was really ill this week and had to miss an amazing Aussie Bonfire party in Leeds. I'm still miffed, and spent my bonfire night catching up on sleep and drinking lots of soup.

2. On the Saturday I went out however and before that we had a few fireworks and a bonfire in my back garden. I wore what I'm wearing in the above picture, I love it. So so cosy :) (excuse the absense of makeup and messy hair!)

3. I'm beginning to get stressed about everything and this blog has suffered. I need to up my game OOTD wise, but with it turning dark so early, it's becoming difficult to have nice pictures! AND I can't find my wireless remote, so it has to be when my sister has time.

1. This was my face yesterday for halloween.. I was a cat. I wore a velvet dress with homemade ears and a tail. The makeup was my favourite to do! My halloween was alright, but it's definitely not my favourite time of year.

2. And sorry it's late, I had alot of essays to get done etc. I'm sad to say it's the end of my half term and I'm back at sixth form, and I didn't really make the most out of my week off.. sad really!

3. My gap year stuff is going good, I'm still trying to set my gap year blog up so I can keep you posted, but theres alot of things I have changed in my gap year (including the destination!) but I'll let you know when everything is set in stone :)

4. I've also got money worries at the moment, like most people in this economic climate really. I haven't started my job yet, but when I get going and have money it will sort itself out. But my gap year saving is meaning I have no money for.. anything really. Hopoefully the job will make it easier, especially as christmas is just round the corner!

Hello you amazing people, I can't believe I have hit 700 followers, especially when this belated giveaway was menna be a 600 follower one.. woops. But I just want to say thankyou so so much. 1. I got the job! I will be starting around mid November and working 21 hours a week, plus my 16 hours at school.. pretty much means I won't have alot of time to blog I am afraid. My blog will always be something I put time aside to work on, but obviously Work and school come first, Fingers crossed I will be okay with my time management! Oh, and it's at phones4u ;)

2. However, I am now in half term *woop* and that means I have lots of times to get posts sorted etc :)

3. I've been MIA because it was my lovely friend Ceri's birthday last night and we all went out, and tonight she is having a party, look at me getting a social life! Well, the picture is what I look like going to this party, it's a 60's theme kinda thing, and I'm wearing a floral romper in hopes that the whole peace flower power thing kinda counts.. I'm no good at themes. You'd think I could at least whip out some of my vintage but no, I am just that bad with themes -sigh-

How to wear: Leopard print coats

This is going to be a new feature, and I think it's about time I have a thorough post on how I would wear things, what I'm influenced by and where to get cheap versions! I hope you enjoy the 'how to wear' series, and let me know what you think. First up:

How to wear leopard print coats
I'm not going to lie, I've never been a fan. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I'm not a tall leggy blonde that could pull off a leopard print coat, but I still admire the girls who do. I am also against fur in fashion, so the I would only ever buy a faux fur coat!

Alexa Chung, Kate Moss, Fearne Cotton, Mischa Barton, Ashley Olsen, Lily Allen.

- Like Alexa and Kate, teaming the coat with a dark dress in the evening can glam up any outfit, but add that vintage edge to a somewhat boring ensemble
- Mary Kates lipstick is not just bang on trend for A/W, but looks perfect with a leopard print coat, probably my favourite thing to team with one! She also gets extra points for the black bowler hat.. another A/W trend that looks amazing teamed altogether!!
- Mischa braves bright coloured tights with hers, something I would never have thought looked so good, but actually looks lovely! I would say bright red tights and red lips would look uh-mazing together, but stay away from patterened tights with this look, there will be too much going on.

-Over the knee socks look amazing with a thick leopard print coat in winter. A pretty feminine dress breaks away the oversized look of the coat and makes it less bulky looking.
- Trousers and a white tee is so simple, yet looks perfect with a leopard print coat slung on the top for the casual look. Wearing black trousers gives the same effect of wearing black tights, it really adds emphasise to the coat.
- Hooded leopard print coats not only look amazing but they are amazing for winter, it is practical yet stylish.

Overall? I quite like the look and especially as it's getting colder, I may purchase one of these badboys (on the cheaper end of the spectrum may I add) but obviously I'm not sure yet.
How have you liked this post? I really want to start talking about hot and current fashion styles alot more, so hopefully these will be like a main feature on blog. I wanted it to be one of the easy posts that don't take me alot of time, but it actually took me forever getting the links, images and finding good items! But I'll do it on days where doing an ootd is not possibly (bad weather/hairdays)

My favourites have to be ebay item number 4 and new looks fur coat, they are probably the cheapest I have seen too :)

I love matalan

I've always thought Matalan was a little bit of a gem. It has some lovely things hidden in store, including this A/W's most coveted aviator jacket for only £35. It sold out everywhere and I had one in my local store, but I'm actually not a huge enough fan of the style to buy it if I'm honest, but I did nip into matalan with my sister on sunday because I have one down the road from me. I found the most amazing things in the whole world.

I'm definitely a jewellery person, and with 70% off selected jewellery at Matalan I was scouring the shelves to find thinsg I loved, it wasn't difficult. There is also a little notice showing you what 70% of £1, £2 etc is, because you know.. I ain't that good at fast math. Here we go -Deep breath-

Birds nest swallow ring: was £5, now £1.50

Butterfly floral ring: was £4, now £1.20

Swan ring: was £4, now £1.20

Scissor pendant necklace: was £6, now £1.80

Humminbird clock necklace - was £7, now £2.10

Hand mirror and bow pendant necklace: was £6, now £1.80

This ring wasn't on sale, but at £6 I HAD to have it. It's a dead ringer for the Alexander Mcqueen Skull ring wth the bow on, and the only place I've seen rings like this that I love are in topshop, at £15 a pop! It's my new staple!

So as far as the sale items go, the RRP of them all is £32 and I only spent £10.95. I couldn't believe the amount they all came to, and at how cheap they were priced! It's basically primark pricing, but the pros of Matalan is that: Not EVERYONE owns the jewellery and they are better quality!
Obviously I'm not sure what your store will be like, but I do recommend going and looking NOWWWW. And if you are not lucky enough to grab some.. I am giving away two of the above items as a christmas blog giveaway (because I wanted you to get in on the bargain!) and I will keep it a surprise as to which ones I bought an extra pair of :)

1. Oh my goddd I hate photobucket so so much. Basically, I have my settings to bill me automatically with photobucket for the pro account, but it decided not to do it this month and then when I clicked it manually it said I should be billed automatically. Which left me stuck with an ugly blog. It's all fixed now, but it took it's time! Bleugh

2. On a better note I had a job interview on Thursday which I was extreeeemely nervous about! It's for a christmas temp position in a shop and they prettyy much told me I got it and that they may want me on a permanent basis.. woo! I'm still not too excited because they incinuated I'd got it but It's not been confirmed, so still, fingers crossed! But I'm very exccited to have a proper job, and it is the kind of job where I will have to dress in smart attire everyday, like office work wear.. haha! I'm excited to get my fashion incorporated into my work clothes but also worried I'll look like a 30 year old woman everyday. I wil tell you where it is at (if you don't already know via twitter) if I actually for sure get it!

3. I had a little splurge (for me, anyway) at Matalan today and will blog about it asap as it is incredible the jewellery I got. I also had a little carboot trip but we set off at 9am and there weren't many stalls so I didn't get loads but I got a few lovely little bits and bobs. On top of that, I had a minor splurge at Primark on friday and saturday (good grief) so I'm all spent out. But theres lots to show you!

4. It's pretty ridiculous how much I've promised a giveaway and not done it, but it will get done eventually! The beauty post is now being made into an October beauty post cause I have some more things I wanna mention and I've used them in October :)

5. I have discovered the amazingness which is De-caff tea. It may sound odd, but I have around 5+ cups of tea a day (This is no exaggeration ladies and gents) and I always ended up having them around 8pm, meaning I had trouble sleeping.. obviously. But now with my de-caf, I have been sleeping so much better and it tastes exactly the same. I know this is a fashion blog and tea is irrelevant but seriously, it's changed my life.. seriously!

The super duper vintage carboot haul

And the reason it is so super duper is that all of it is up for sale NOW on my ebay. Unfortunately as much as I love each and every piece I got.. I just can't afford to keep them. Money is tight and I'm still saving for my gap year (which is going very well btw!) :) I'm starting them all off at 99p and I will combine postage and all that malarky if you buy more than one thing.

So yeah, get bidding.. because they are genuinely lovely vintage pieces that are really great for A/W in my opinion and what I would be keeping if I could afford to! Hope I styled them okay with the scarves and boots (and new satchel I will show you in another post!) just wanted to show you how I'd personally wear them to give you an idea. I did keep like, 2 or 3 things for myself that I've wanted for ages so I'll get round to showing you those later. Good luck bidding!

1. The photo is me on friday. I woke up late for sixth form, giving me a lovely hour to get ready, rather than a quick 20 minutes. It was heaven, and is why I look more freshfaced than usual!

2. I've almost finished cleaning my room, and I've been at it for a month because I'm a pack rat, and have had to have a PROPER and thorough clean out of clutter, not just shoving things in boxes etc. When I'm finished I'll be adding all my vintage pieces I've picked up at carboots etc and a carpet, which is something I am in desperate need of right now! Oh and yes you can see mess in the background because that is me cleaning out the contents under the boxes under my bed.. ouch. I keep waaayyyyyy too much crap

3. I'm feeling quite uninspired clothes wise, I get like this at least 3-4 times a month where I feel like I have no nice clothes and nothing looks right, blah blah blah. Anywho, I'm having a complete, and that is COMPLETE clearout of my items and I MAY do it via a blogsale. Most of it is pretty little vintage things, which I think most of my readers would love to get their hands on anyway.

4. I keep postponing this giveaway because I literally have just had other posts lined up.. I hardly ever have this scenario! It will be up I really promise, I just have to fit it into my blog schedule.

5. NOTICED THE LAYOUT? It's not even a big change but I've updated to the new layouts and that means I now have an 'older posts' option and the pages under my header WORK. Yes folks, they WORK. Some pages are still underconstruction (I know, anti climax or what) but the links page is well under way and I would LOVE to pop you on there. Just comment on this post or email me, and keep bugging me if I don't get round to it because I am one of those people that needs constant reminders get jobs done! But it is all going to get done and things will be a little messy on the blog, I'm sorry. But I'm quite proud of myself for getting round to the blog thing.. I think my number one question on the blog was 'WHERE IS YOUR OLDER POSTS LINK?' Well, now you can look through all my older crappy posts at your own .. delight? haha

6. I'm getting more and more depressed at the idea that carboots will be stopping shortly (R.I.P).. and of how my number one source of income for my gap year will soon be gone. It is just for the winter months however, and there is still one smaller carboot destination that runs, but it won't be the same. *sigh*

7. Speaking of carboots, I've just bought a huge bundle of things today and I will post about them tomorrow or tues, depending on how much time I have! But there are alot of beautiful things and lots of things I have had to put on with a heavy heart, as I really wanted to keep them. Alas, the gap year funding sacrifices continue!

8. I have a beauty post coming up soon, which will be based around what I have been wearing/loving in September.. I realise I've left it late but again, scheduling these blog posts is a tricky thing.

9. I've been watching the inbetweeners and I have a love hate relationship with the show. I do find it funny, but it is so overrated that I literally cannot stand when people make references to it irl, and I only get a few laughs out of it at best. I think the only saving grace for me is Simon Bird, who I actually love. But he's also annoyed me cause his new show 'The Kind is Dead' is pants. *sigh*

10. Today it is the 10/10/10! I am quite weird about things like that, I just find it so so fascinating. And that it will only happen again twice more, with 11/11/11 and 12/12/12 and thats it (well, for my lifetime anywho) which is quite bizarre. But thats wy there are 10 things on my share sunday, I tried to expand it and ramble just to make 10 points.. see what I did there? I know.. GENIUS.

002. Kavita visits London - Camden

After a lovely night at Hannahs, we nipped into Camden, which is just a busride away from her lovely house. Unfortunately, it was raining, so I didn't end up with as many snaps as I wanted.. even if by the end of my time in London I had taken 299 snaps.. haha. But yes, the umbrellas up show that it was a little bit of a gloomy day, added with me nearly getting run over and some strange man talking about my shoes, it was a wonderful way to end my trip to London. We also visited lots of charity shops, and I'll show you what I bought in my next post :)

001 Kavita in London - The night

I was nicely invited to an event in London on Thursday, and of course being from up North, I can't just nip down for the night to attend. So I decided to make a proper trip down to London and stayed overnight at Hannahs. Incase you don't know (which most of my readers know very well!) Hannah is a blogger that I am lucky enough to have befriended outside of the bloggersphere and she kindly let me stay over in her new student house in Camden.. it is LOVELY! All her housemates are super duper lovely and I had the best time exploring Camden with her and just taking it all in. Her housemates Lydia and Robyn also have blogs, so check them out! I'm definitely a London fanatic, the hustle and bustle of the tubes and crazyness of the people there, it's definitely where I want to be when I am older :)

On the night I wore my new silk blouse, topshop heels and lace edge cycling shorts, which have all made an appearance on the blog before!

Me, Hannah and her lovely housemate Robyn all arrived a little late, but got settled in quite quickly. However I felt quite out of place as a blogger there as there were quite alot of people attending who were older and had alot more money to splash around, and we were just 3 student bloggers! We left early as we were pretty tired, and retired home with drinks and a takeaway in hand.

1. I got back from London on friday and was completely shattered. I had a wondeful couple of days, and a huge thankyou to Hannah for letting me stay at her house. Posts will be up shortly.

2. The vest I am wearing on the picture says 'Canada' on it and was a present from my aunt who just came back from there recently. It's very comfy!

3. I've got a middle parting on the picture.. not really sure what I think? I've had a fringe since I was 15 and not having one is bizarre, but the middle parting trend is so pretty! I'll probably experiment with it.

4. Sorry for lack of posts, in between London, finishing up homework and looking for a job I've been mega busy. I'm really struggling to find a job as there are literally no vacancies around! New post will be up tuesday :)

1. All I have done today is played pictionary and slept.. alot. I woke up at 4pm and didn't even attend a carboot! I was out until 5:30am last night, and had a really lovely time.. but I then remembered why I don't actually go out that much. I can't hack the lifestyle!

2. I've had a few questions on the fact that I haven't got an 'older posts' option, and the links under the i heart vintage banner do not work. They are being sorted out, it is just taking me forever as I haven't had a proper time of day to dedicate toward it!

3. I have picture day at sixth form tomorrow.. agh. I am not looking forward to it as I always hate my school pictures and I've been quite spotty recently = not a good combo.

4. I've got an exciting week next week as I'm off to London thurs, so if there aren't too many updates, thats why :) But I'll do a blog post on the event and seeing the beautiful Hannah, and what we got up to whilst I was there!

Just wanted to update you with a few haul items I have picked up in the past few weeks from charity shops, ebay and carboots. The brown bag and shoes are currently on ebay at the moment if you want to take a look, the shoes are a size 6/7 :) (so annoyed them don't fit me!)
The flannel shirt is abit too big for me, like I love the oversized look but it is just TOO oversized! But I've been wearing it tied, liek in the picture, with jeans and heels. The books were a really super find as they are on my reading list and I didn't own them, and the zara blouse was 99p and I think would look good for a pop of colour this a/w, as everything does seem to be abit khaki/burgundy/maroon/brown at the moment. As pretty as Autumn colours are it can be abit.. bland.
